(14) Stay Away From Me!

                         Uni's POV
       I slowly shifted a bit as I began to wake up. I had a headache, and I felt weak, but it wasn't to bad. I was lying on the ground, but my head was resting on something soft and warm. It was a person, and I could hear their  soft heartbeat thumping through their body. I knew the person was Cory, because a familiar atmosphere surrounded him. I shifted slightly, then I felt Cory stiffen. "Uni!? Are you awake?" He questioned quickly. I nodded slightly, and slowly sat up. "Are you okay?" He questioned worriedly. I nodded, my hand rising to hold my throbbing head. Then I remembered it, the dream, the images, the blood....The reflection.

      I gasped, and quickly stumbled to my feet. "Uni, clam down dude, you still might be weak from earlier!" He said quickly, stepping towards me. He was right, I still was weak, but that wasn't gonna stop me. I put my hands out to stop him, "P-Please...Stay away from me..." I stuttered fearfully. My body shook slightly in anxiety, and my breathing was rapid. "Uni, what-" He began, but I cut him off. "No...Stay away!" I snapped, grabbing my head as the images replayed in my mind. Cory stepped towards, but I stepped back again. I held my hand out, signaling for him to stop, while my other hand stayed on my head, gripping my hair fearfully.

      "Uni, what's wrong?" Cory questioned, but I said nothing. Then I slowly backed up, "Please...Im dangerous..." I muttered. Then I turned around and began running through the forest. I didn't care where I ended up, I just wanted to run away, to protect those who mean't the most to me... I hadn't been able to do that before.....I felt tears run down my cheeks, leaking out from under my blindfold. Inran deeper and deeper into the forest, then, with the last of my energy, I ran to a tree. I collapsed behind the tree. I leaned my back against the tree, my body shaking and years running down my cheeks as memories resurfaced. I pulled my knees to my chest and hugged them tightly. I buried my face into my knees, and I felt tears soaking into my pants. Then soon enough, I heard footsteps begin to approach me. Cory...Why'd you follow me...? I questioned to myself silently.

                          Cory's POV
        "Cory!" I heard Nick yell as I ran blindly into the woods after Uni. I chased Uni with all my might, though he was much faster than me, suprisingly. I ran after him for a few minutes, then I suddenly realized with a jolt that I had lost track of Uni.
I looked around frantically, then froze when I heard a quiet sniffle. Why's he crying? I wondered sympathetically to myself. I began to walk towards the quiet sniffles and sobs, and they led me to a large tree, which I saw Uni leaning against the tree on the ground. "Why did you follow me, Cory?" He questioned quietly.

      I walked over to him, "Because im your friend, and friends help each other." I said simply, sitting down on my knees infront of him. He had his knees pulled close to his chest, and he was hugging them comfortingly. Tears ran down his cheeks, which meant he was crying alot if they were escaping his blindfold. "P-Please...Leave..." He murmured. "No, Uni...I'm not leaving you...So please, tell me what's wrong.." I whispered. Uni shook his head, "I'm a monster...That's what's wrong..." He murmured. I frowned, "Uni...You aren't a monster." I said softly. "Why would you think that?" I questioned.

      Tears began to run faster down Unis face, "B-Beacuse...." He began, but his voice trailed off. "Uni..." I pressed. "Because I can't repeat what happened before!" He suddenly blurted. "What happened before?" I questioned, but Unis breath only quickened. "I can't....I can't...I can't..." He began to murmur repetitively. I felt a wave of sympathy for him, then I leaned forward and pulled him into a comforting hug. "Uni...If you don't want to tell me what happened, but I just want you to be okay..." I murmured quietly to him. Uni sobbed quietly into my chest, "I don't want to hurt you guys! You guys are all I have left!" He cried. I hugged his tighter, "Uni...I know you...You would never hurt us...Any of us.." I murmured. "B-But..." he began, but I cut him off, "Uni, what happened? What's making you think this way? Does it have to do with the town?" I questioned, and Uni shook his head. "N-No...." He murmured. "Okay...Then what is it?" I questioned. Uni shook his head, "Just memories..." He muttered. I frowned, I hated seeing him this way. I hugged him comfortingly. "Don't worry about the past, Uni...If you keep looking back, you'll drive yourself insane." I murmured. I saw Uni smile a bit, "To late..." He murmured jokingly, and I chuckled lightly in response.

      I held Uni this way for a few minutes, until I felt his heartbeat and breathing slow down. I slowly let him go from the comforting embrace, and I heard him sniffle once more. "Uni, I want to help you, and if you ever feel tho s way again...Please tell me...I want to help you..." I murmured, and Uni nodded. "I'm here for you, Uni...Just keep that in mind, please." I murmured. Uni nodded guiltily, "I'm sorry, Cory..." He murmured. I stroked his cheek gently, wiping away a falling tear,  "You don't have to be sorry...I should be the one apologizing." I murmured. Uni cocked his head tyo the side in confusion, "You? Why?" He questioned. I sighed and balled my fists in anger, "Because none if this would've happened if I'd just stayed by your side..." I muttered guiltily. Uni put his hand softly on my shoulder, "It wasn't your fault, I wasn't paying attention either." He murmured. I smiled slightly at his understanding, then I slowly made my way to my feet, and cleared my throat. "We should head back to the others, they're probably worried." I murmured. Uni nodded, and I held my hand out to help him up. Uni reached up and grabbed my hand, and I pulled him up swiftly. We both smirked, and with that we began walking back in the direction that we came.
