(17) Please Hurry...

                            Nicks POV
         "TOMMY!?" I yelled and ran forward to the motionless body laying on the ground. Blood was all over the forest ground, flowing every which way. I kneeled down next to Tommy, my heart beating rapidly and my breathing quick. I noticed that he had a bloody gash on his arm, but most noticeably, he had a large, deep gash across the front of his body. It was bleeding heavily, and I was getting very worried. I stared at his chest, but I saw no rise and fall of breath. My heart seemed to skip a beat, and I quickly put my fingers on his wrist, praying silently for a pulse. And I let out a small sigh of relief as I felt a pulse. It was barely noticeable, and it was dangeriously slowly and soft, but it was there, and that's what mattered.

      I stared at Tommys unmoving body once more, and I bit my bottom lip slightly. Then I picked Tommy up bridle-style, "You'll be okay...." I whispered, then I turned back the way I came, and began running quickly through the woods. Tommy is heavier than me, so it was a bit difficult, but adrenaline helped me there. I put on a burst of vampire speed, and began running towards the others. In moments, I was running through the brush, and I exploded through the brush where the others were. I was panting, and my eyes shone with fear.

      The others noticed Tommy immediantly. I quickly made my way to the middle of the clearing and fell to my knees with Tommy still in my arms. The others ran up to Tommy and I, and I stared at Tommy fearfully. "H-He's dying...." I croaked, and for the first time I realized that warm tears were falling down my face. Cory kneeled down next to me, as if studying the wounds. I looked up to see Ashlie and Jon both crying, and holding onto each other. Then, I saw Uni. He looked horrified and scared, but my anger seemed to take over all my sympathy in that moment. I gently sat Tommy onto the ground, then I stood up to face Uni. "I told you it was a bad idea to let him go alone! And now he's dying because you wouldn't let me go with him! It's your fault, what kind of leader are you!?" I yelled, and Uni stepped back. "I-I-" He stuttered, but I cut him off.

        "If he dies, I'll never forgive you!" Uni looked shocked and scared. "Nick, shut up! Now is not the time to be pointing fingers! Tommy's pulse is getting slower every minute, and I need you to help me stop the bleeding, NOW!" Cory snapped. I glanced at Tommy, then I glared once more at Uni. I turned back to where Tommy and Cory were on the ground, and I kneeled down. "What do we do?" I asked fearfully. "I'm no medic, but we need to stop the bleeding NOW, or he won't last 20 minutes." I felt as if my heart had shattered when he said that. I had gotten painfully close with Tommy since I met him, and I wasn't ready to lose him...Not yet...

       I took my daek gray vest off and pressed it against the large wound on Tommys front side, but it wasn't doing much. Tommy no... I thought sadly as his blood began to soak into my vest. Then, suddenly Jon stepped forward. He was staring at Tommy, almost seeming like he was in a trance. He kneeled down next to Tom, and moved my vest carefully off of the wound. "Jon!" Cory snapped, but Jon said nothing. He placed his hand on Tommys wound, and shut his eyes. Then, to my suprise, a green light began to glow from inside one of his front pant pockets. "What is that?" Cory murmured in confusion, and Ashlie was starring at the light in confusion. Jon quickly opened his eyes and looked at his pocket. A look of confusion crossed his face, then he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small green leaf, which was glowing brightly green. I stared in amazement, "A Spirit Lily..." I said breathily. Jon held the leaf in his hand, then suddenly the leaf glowed brighter than before. And as if in sync, Jons eyes glowed brightly green aswell. He looked suprised, and so did everyone else. He looked back down at the glowing leaf, and suddenly the glow faded and so did the green in Jons eyes. The leaf faded until it looked like a normal leaf, leaving us confused.

      Jon stared at the leaf, then he smiled and jumped to his feet. He looked at us, "We need more leaves!" He said quickly. Cory opened his mouth, as if to question him, but soon shut it, and he simply nodded. Jon turned to Ashlie, "Come with me, we need to find more Spirit Lilys, now. Let's go!" He said quickly, then he paused and looked at Cory and I. "You two make sure that he stays alive while we're gone....Please." He said, and I nodded. "We'll try, just HURRY!" Cory said loudly. Jon nodded, and him and Ashlie ran into the woods. Cory and I looked at each other, and we began pressing down on Toms wounds, hoping to keep his life force ftom draining completely.

     Jon and Ashlie had been gone for about 6 minutes now, and Tommy wasn't looking so good. He was very pale, and you couldn't even tell if he was alive anymore. Cory seemed to notice aswell, and he grabbed Tommys wrist, checking for a pulse. Cory's eyes widened, and he sighed, carefully putting Tommys arm down. "What is it?" I asked worriedly. Cory looked at me sadly, "His pulse....It's almost completely gone....We'll need a miracle for this..." Cory murmured, and I felt dread build up in my stomach.

    Then suddenly, Jon and Ashlie bursted through the brush, both holding many leaves. I stared at him, then he met my melancholy gaze, and he got the gist of how serious the situation was. He ran forward with Ashlie, and they ran to Tommy. "Step back, please." Jon said, and I hesitantly stood up and backed away. Cory did the same, "What's your plan?" He asked, and Jon shrugged. "I, uh, don't really know...But just trust me.." He said quietly. "What!?" I exclaimed and Jon turned to me, his violet gaze burning into mine. "Trust me..." I sighed. This BETTER work... I thought  darkly.

     I watched Jon in confusion as him and Ashlie began to place the small leaves on the ground around Tommy, forming a circle. They were very careful, and they made sure that every leaf touched the one beside it. "What are they doing?" Cory whispered, voicing my thoughts, and I shrugged. "But whatever it is, they better hurry..."

A/N Okay, this cliffhanger WASN'T intentional, so now I feel bad...sorry! And I know this chapter was useless and rushed, but I felt like writing...so KABOOM!
