"How do you figure we can pull this off? Red and gold don't exactly look alike, and, last time I checked, this vampire we're going after isn't color blind, so how are we gonna get him to-"
"My gosh you talk a lot, did you know that?" Justin asked as he slipped a pair of sunglasses over my eyes. "There, see? Now no one can tell you have red eyes, okay?"
"Right, and he isn't going to take the sunglasses off? We need a better plan," Draven spoke up beside me. I nodded in agreement. Though vampires drink blood, they aren't stupid.
"Oh okay, you come up with something then," Justin crossed his fingers behind his head, raising an eyebrow at both of us.
We all stayed quiet for about a minute, trying to think.
"Okay, fine," Draven huffed out, and Justin looked accomplished.
"Remind me, how did you choose the lucky vamp who's going to die for me?"
"It's just a little payback for a friend, don't worry about it."
"I little?! Justin, this is someone's life. This is not a little thing!"
"Look, he took some of someone's blood that you know, and that's all I'm gonna say, alright? Now let's go before you die."
Well I guess I can't argue with that. With my fake tan on, so I don't look like a vampire, and my new shades, again, so this mysterious person doesn't know I'm a vampire, I followed Justin outside, with Draven close behind me. A few steps out of the house, Justin turned to me and handed me a cane.
"What's this for?" I questioned, taking it from him.
"Well you can't just insist you wear sunglasses for no reason. Now you're blind, congratulations."
"Well gee," I muttered as I practiced using the cane. "Okay, so what's the plan to get him to, uh, drink from me?" I shivered at the thought.
"Just act innocent, and...uh...blood-filled?" Justin laughed at himself. I rolled my eyes, and a smirk came across my face when I realized he couldn't see me. I began crossing my eyes, or twitching one and giving Justin the stink eye. Eventually I got really into it and started sticking my tongue out, and that's when Draven lowered my glasses and raised an eyebrow at me. I blinked a few times, then crossed my eyes, sticking my tongue out at him. I mean, I had nothing to lose at that point. Draven just smiled and shook his head.
"Alright, it's like a ten mile walk through the woods, then Draven and I will hide somewhere in the bushes or something, and you get him to drink from you, then leave, got it? Vampire deaths are not the prettiest, and he still might not die and you might still be a vampire if he gets you to drink from him before he dies, so, yeah, get out of there as fast as you can. Like, right after he takes the first sip, got it?" Justin says as we step into the wooded area near Draven's house.
"Okay...I really don't like talking about 'sipping' and 'drinking' when we're talking about my blood here," I pointed out.
"Well isn't that too bad," Justin responded without turning around.
We walked for about eight minutes, when we came just before a clearing, not unlike the one Draven and I went to for our picnic. Suddenly, Justin stopped.
"Okay, act blind, act innocent, just keep walking straight. Draven, you're going to have to release your claim on her if we want this to work."
Draven nodded and took up my hand in both of his.
"I release my claim," he stated, "...but only temporarily," he whispered the last part, winking at me. I chuckled.
"Alright, Cally, go!" Justin urged, then disappeared behind a bush.
