Emma waited in line to get her morning coffee before school. Someone inched up next to her.

"Hey Em." Calum said confidently. "Can I buy you a coffee?"

"Sure." Emma shrugged and blushed.

"Go sit." Calum pointed to a table in the distance. She walked away.

"Hello sir, what can I get you today?" A barista asked him. He ordered their drinks and then said, "I have a special request."

Emma watched as Calum carried their drinks to the table. He handed one to her, and she saw something written on it.

Rather than the cup saying Calum, it said: Emma, Will you go to the dance with me? I'm bribing you with caffeine.

Emma laughed and nodded.

"Yes!" Calum cheered.

The last bell of the day rang, releasing Hailey from the misery that is math class. She stuffed all of her shit into her bag some how, and went towards the door.

"Hailey wait up." Jack said from the back of the class. He followed her out and to her locker. "So I know this is pretty short notice, since it's in two days. But, I said I wanted to see more of you, and I can't think of anyone better to go with...You wanna be my date to the dance?"

"Of course! Pick me up at 7:00?"

"Sure." He smiled and walked away.

Hailey smiled like a soccer mom when her child scores a goal. She ran outside to her car. Her friends waited for her.

"Guess what?!" Hailey exclaimed.

"What's up?" Sophia asked.

"Jack asked me to the dance!" She squealed.

Emma and Sophia looked at each other.

"Thats...great!" Emma faked excitement.

Hailey started the car and the other girls got in. "Fuck. I left my textbook in my locker." Hailey ran out.

"What're you going to tell Luke??" Sophia asked as soon as Hailey vacated.

"I'm not. We're not. He'll freak out and mess up everything. We're still going according to plan." Emma replied.

"Okay..."

Hailey pulled into her driveway after dropping her passengers off at their separate homes. Luke sat on his front porch once again, trying to write something good. It was getting colder now. Rather than around his waist, he wore his flannel buttoned up excluding two buttons, so his collar bone was exposed, along with a deep red beanie.

"Hi Hails." Luke smiled. That nickname didn't seem to bother her anymore.

"Hey Hemmings." Hailey grabbed a chip out of the bowl that sat next to the tall boy. He had his legs extended as far as they could, they were too long for the porch step he sat on. "Writing anything good?"

Luke noticed her adorable smirk as he looked at his newly found muse. Nothing he had ever written was as good as the songs about her. "I hope so." He nodded.

"I have great news!" Hailey said excitedly. Luke couldn't help but smile when she told him good things that had happened to her. It made him happy to see her happy.
