Hailey woke up still smiling after the events of last night. She brought her hand to her lip. The electricity of that kiss still flowing through her. She got up and crept to her balcony, peaking through the curtains. She didn't see Luke through the bedroom window, but she can only see a sliver of his room through the partially close blinds.

She giddily ran to her phone. "EMMA" She screamed when she picked up the phone after a few rings.

"Why are you screaming?" Emma put her hand to her forehead, still a big hungover from the day before.

"BECAUSE SOMETHING AMAZING HAPPENED!" Hailey squealed.

"What?!" Emma was intrigued.

"ME AND LUKE KISSED." Hailey yelled.

Emma now yelled too, "FINALLY GOD DAMN..But how? When? You guys left here ready to kill each other"

"I can explain later, but right now I just need to talk to him." Hailey hung up. She immediately called Luke.

Luke was woken up by his phone ringing. It was Hailey. "HOLY SHIT" He said out loud, remembering the events of last night. He declined the call. He needed to talk to Calum first, he had no ideas whatsoever on what to say. No way in hell was he going to ruin his chances by saying something stupid

Hailey figured he must still be sleeping or something.

At Luke's request, Calum raced to his house as fast as he could.

"WHATS THE EMERGENCY? DID YOU GET YOUR SELF STUCK IN THE-" Calum was cut off.

"NO! AND DO NOT BRING IT UP" Luke yelled. "I have good news."

"What?"

"Me and Hailey kissed last night." Luke said.

"That's great Luke!" Calum said hugging him.

"I know except...I don't know what to do now?" Luke scratched his head. "I have no idea what to say."

"What happened after the kiss?"

"We just stared at each other for a minute and then both quickly ran to our houses so we just haven't talked at all." Luke blushed.

"Tell her how you feel, you already kissed her so what's the harm. Ask her out." Calum reasoned.

"I have a plan...Proms next week right?" He clarified.

"Yeah." Calum answered.

"I need to talk to who's running it"

-----------------------

It was already 3 and he still hadn't called. Hailey was really starting to worry he regretted it all. It's 2018, she can make the first move right? She marched over to knock, his mom answered the door.

"Hi Hailey!" She smiled warmly.

"Hey Liz! Is Luke around?" She asked trying to hide her impatience.

"No. I'll tell him you stopped by."

Luke was with Calum on their way to Emma's, who of course was planning prom.

"We need a favor." Luke begged. "I'm sure you already know what uh happened with Hailey last night."

"Yeah, congrats, finally." She giggled.

"Thanks, I want to tell her how I feel, but I want to show her." Luke tried to explain. "I need you to let 5 Seconds of Summer preform at prom."

"Anything for love." She smiled. "You get one song"

"Thanks so much Emma. I owe you." Luke hugged her. He was so much happier now that he'd finally kissed Hailey. He couldn't believe he'd finally kissed her. He'd barely processed it. THEIR LIPS TOUCHED AND SHE SAID SHE LOVED HIM.

"You can repay me by making her happy." She assured him .

"I have to avoid her the next few days. I feel really fucking bad, but I don't want to talk about it yet, because I want this to be a surprise. Please tell her that i'm not avoiding her cause I regret it, it's because i'm planning something." Luke asked. "I can't have her thinking I don't care."

Hailey sat on her balcony pathetically waiting for Luke to come home. Her hopes were answered when the van pulled up. She put on a big smile, which shrank a bit when she saw all the boys with him. Luke saw her as he got out of the car. He sent her a wave up and blushed. Haileys phone rang, it was Luke.

"Hey Hails." He said looking at her from his driveway.

"Hey Luke." She answered like she was chill, while inside she was freaking out.

"Just wanted to say last night was good." He nodded awkwardly. "But um I have band practice now...gotta go." He hung up nervously, and ran down to the basement.

Confused, Hailey called Emma.

"He called me and said last night was good and then he suddenly hung up? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?" Hailey freaked out.

"Okay look. Earlier Luke and Calum came over. Luke asked me to say that, he's not avoiding you because he regrets it." Emma began.

"Oh god." Hailey interrupted her, her face sinking.

"No no, it's all good. He's avoiding you because he has a surprise. He wants to tell u how he feels."

Haileys face lit up again.

"Just wait, good things come to people who wait....and don't find a prom date"

She hung up. Haileys mind wandered to all the possibilities of Lukes surprise. She was just relived to know that he wasn't avoiding her because he changed his mind after kissing her. She could hear the band practice. Whatever they were playing sounded good.

If only she knew.
