It was a long weekend off from school. Luke's mom decided to do a family vacation, as did most of her friends. Hailey was left behind of course. She called Ashton.

"Ashton, I'm bored and hungry pick me up." She whined into time he phone.

"I'll be there in 10" He chirped. Ashton rolled up about 10 minutes later, he was always so punctual. "Hey Hailey."

"Every time one of you says that now I just think of the song." She said.

"Well it's a good song." Ashton said proudly.

"Agreed." She pressed her cheek agains the glass of the car window. "Where are we going?"

"New place that opened up a few blocks from here."

"Oh yeah I've been wanting to try it." Hailey nodded excitedly.

"You're always hungry." Ashton chuckled.

"I can't argue there." She agreed. They sat down at the table and picked up their menus. "So, Ive been dying to know all the embarrassing shit Luke did while we weren't friends."

"I think that would defy the bro code." Ashton sipped his drink.

"But were bros Ashton." Hailey bats her long lashes.

"Fine." Ashton chuckled. "For a little while, he had a thing for Stacy."

"Stay??" Hailey scoffed. "Gross. Her personality is faker than her self tanner."

"Yeah I know." Ashton shook his head, smiling. "But anyways, Luke liked her. So to tell her, he wrote her a song."

"Well that's sweet-" Hailey started to say.

Ashton cut her off, "No. It wasn't anything like your song. This is when Luke first started writing. Let's just say it didn't go well."

"Yikes." Hailey laughed. "What was it called?"

"Stacy My Lady." Ashton choked out.

Hailey nearly spit out her drink from laughter, "That's so bad."

The two friends continued going out to lunch every day until their friends returned from holiday. Ashton was a really good friend to Hailey. She felt like she didn't have to censor herself around him.

Hailey sat on her porch waiting for her boyfriend to return from vacation. Her head shot up with every passing car. Finally, one actually pulled into his driveway.

Hailey squealed and ran to him, "HI!!"

"Hey" He chuckled opening his arms. She ran into them, the force almost knocking him over. His awkwardly long legs did not always provide the best balance. He brought his lips to hers, leaving them when he heard his mother clear her throat behind him.

"Hi Liz." Hailey blushed.

"Hey Hailey." Liz waved. "Luke, the bags?"

"K Mom." Luke sighed. "Just a sec Hails." He grabbed a bag and disappeared inside. He returned with a bag of chips. He was always hungry. He offered the bag to her.

"Not hungry for once. I had lunch with Ashton."

"Just the two of you?" Luke raised his eyebrow.

"Yeah...Is there something wrong?" She wondered.

"No-No of course not. I just wouldn't have guessed you two would become such good friends that's all." Luke shrugged and shoved a handful of chips in his mouth. "Tomorrow you wanna watch that new horror movie with the witch?"

"I uh actually already saw it...with Ashton." Hailey shrugged.

"Oh." Luke said, trying his best to hide his jealousy. "That's cool, we can just get dinner instead."

"Sure!" She kissed him on the cheek. "I'm so happy you're back." She leaned her head on his shoulder.

Luke folded the top of the bag over so the chips wouldn't get stale. He turned to face her. "As much as I love just sitting with you. Wanna go upstairs?"

"Hm? And do what?" Hailey asked with fake innocence.

Luke kissed her as his hands trailed down to her hips. "I haven't seen you in a while...your parents here?" His voice was muffled by her lips.

"No." Hailey smirked into the kiss. She stood up, and signaled for Luke to follow her inside.

Luke of course woke up the next day with Hailey in his arms. He played with her hair until she sleepily opened her eyes. "Hi" He said quietly.

"Hey." She smiled. "What time is it?"

"Eleven"

"I have to go at twelve. I wish I could stay in bed with you all day though."

"Where do you have to go that's so important?" He pouted, he pulled her closer hoping she would stay.

"Lunch with Ash."

"Ah." Luke said. He didn't like that she was leaving him to go get lunch with his best friend, but he of course wasn't going to tell her that.

"But I'll see you at dinner tonight." She reassured him and gave him a peck on the lips.

He sighed, clenching his first under the covers. "Yep..."
