Ashton's van is parked out front of Haileys house. They were summoned by a text from Emma.

"NO STOP." Michael yells, per his usual loud demeanor, as Ashton goes to open the door.

"What?" Ashton asks annoyed.

"Luke lives right next door. We have to be sneaky. On my signal." Micahel nods. "1...2..."

Ignoring Michael, Calum gets out of the car slamming the door loudly.

"3!" Michael yells. He rolls out of the van. He gets up and runs to Haileys door. Ashton and Calum roll their eyes, but giggle and follow him.

"So you've finally come to your senses Hughes?" Calum says waltzing into her room. "Hello again babe" He kisses Emma's cheek.

"I guess so." Hailey shrugs.

"Can you guys get Luke to not hate Hailey anymore?" Sophia begs.

"Of course. But it's not that easy." Ashton says. "He can hold a grudge when he wants to."

"One time in the 7th grade, I accidentally ate Luke's Twinkie, so he replaced my shampoo with blue hair dye...4 weeks later." Michael added.

"Jesus fuck." Hailey sighed and collapsed on her bed in defeat. "I don't even know what I did ."

The people surrounding her looked at each other nervously and filled her in. About how Luke liked her, and danced with her disguised at the dance, only to hear her trash him. And now he has sworn to never fall for her again.

"We'll do everything we can. Be as nice as possible. Make it known you like him. Eventually he'll come around." Calum said hopefully.

"Should I break up with Jack?" Hailey asked.

"No, make him jealous. Then he'll come around faster." Emma replied.

Hailey couldn't be more upset with herself. He like her this whole time, how couldn't she see it?

-

Hailey fished around in her bag for the keys to her car, standing outside on the cold morning.

"Hey Hails." Luke mocked.

"Hey Luke." Hailey smiled genuinely. She looked at him so differently now that she realized how she felt. The breeze blew his perfect blonde hair that hadn't been cut in a while. His blue eyes were more gray today, reflecting the sky.

"Looking for your keys?" He dangled them near his face and smirked. "Found them on the sidewalk last night...lucky someone didn't steal them."

"Thank you so much!" She walked towards him to grab the keys.

"Nope" He said. He chucked the keys a yard over and got into his car and left.

Hailey stood there. She needed to stay calm. Calums words rang in her head. Be as nice as you can...make him know you like him.

After searching for and finding her keys, Hailey sprinted into school just as the bell rang. And of course, for her tardiness, she was rewarded with a detention.

-

"Hey Luke. You could use a haircut." Hailey say playfully. She was walking home from school and since Luke was on his porch she thought she would talk to him. She was going to take every opportunity she could get.

"So could you. Your roots are starting to show through the dye." Luke remarked.

Hailey swallowed whatever insults were trying to pour out her mouth and let it go. "I got a detention for being late after you threw my keys." She laughed.

Luke smiled and then went inside. Hailey sighed and turned around when she heard a car coming. It was Jacks car.

"Hey Hailey!" He waved. "Thought I would come pick you up and we could hang."

"Sounds great." She smiled with a relief. She may like Luke, but she really did care about Jack.

Luke watched her get into his car. He angrily kicked the door. "DAMN IT." He grabbed his foot in regret.

"He's just being such a dick!" Hailey ranted from the passengers seat.

"He can't be that bad." Jack chuckles. He thought his girlfriend was cute when she's annoyed.

"but he is!! Everything I say he has to give me a rude reply. He even said my hair looks bad. Does my hair look bad?" She pouts.

"No baby of course not, you're right he's just a dick." Jack said.

"I'm trying to be nice, cause I just want us to be...friends." She realized who she was talking to, and quickly saved herself. It would be pretty terrible if she told her boyfriend that she liked someone else. "This morning he literally threw my keys like two yards away! I got detention from being late cause it took me so long to find them. He didn't even care. Not one fuck."

"Asshole. Want me to beat him up?" Jack said annoyed.

"No, please don't." She begged.

"Whatever you want." Jack smiled.

-

Luke put the finishing touches on his stupid math homework as he heard a knock on the door. He glided down the stairs. Figuring it was the boys. Much to his surprise, it wasn't.

"Hey Luke." Jack nodded.

"Hey?" Luke was confused.

"Stop being a dickhead to my girlfriend." Jack said sternly.

"The fuck are you going to do Jack? Beat me up?" Luke scoffed. Nothing made him angrier than Jack calling her his girlfriend. And now he's threatening him? "Go for it."

Jack shook his head at Luke's smirk. He grabbed him by the shirt collar out of the frame of his front door. He threw him into the yard.

Luke crashed into what was luckily grass. Jack walked towards him steaming with rage. "Don't play with me Hemmings." He put his foot on Luke's chest holding him down before he could get up.

He raised his fist, and threw into into Luke's face. A car skid to a halt next to them.

"What the hell are you doing Jack?" He heard Michael yell.

"Get out of here now." Ashton demanded. "You're outnumbered."

"If you don't leave yourself, we won't hesitate to make you." Calum said seriously.

Jack sighed and gave Luke a nudge with his foot. He walked away and drove off.

"What did you do Lucas?" Calum sighed helping him up.

"Guess I haven't been the nicest to Hailey and he heard about it." Luke wiped blood from his lip. "Decided to teach me a lesson."

Michael laughed, "At least he didn't hurt your beautiful, talented, song writing, guitar playing hands."

"What is it with you and hands Michael? Your always talking about my fingers." Ashton said.

"They're really fucking long." Michael insisted.

"They are." Calum agreed.
