" 'Mione, your Dad and I think that it's about time you get out of the house and think about something other than that magic school of yours. Maybe go out and make some friends in the neighborhood." Mom leans against the door frame of my room as I reviewed one of the books we got from the magic shop last summer before my first. "Dad, needs to face the reality of the situation. I'm a witch. Magic flows through my veins. You adopted a witch. Deal with it." Mom winced at the last part of my startment. The first week of summer, after I came home from Hogwarts, I'd told them that I knew they kept my adoption a secret from me. I'd never forgive them for that.

"Sweetheart, the idea is still a lot for us to take in." I slam my book down and face her. "It's been over eight months. How long do you plan on living in denial?" She remained silent, so I took this chance to tell her my plans for this year. "I want to find my birth parents." Her eyes widened with tears. "I'm sorry to hear that." Giving her a confused look, I urge her to continue. "We don't know who your birth family is. There is no record of them in the database. You didn't even have a last name when we found you. Which means you won't be able to find them." I shook my head, refusing to believe her. "It's the truth. There's no chance of you finding them."

Her face hardened. "So I suppose you are stuck with us."  With that, she slammed my door closed. Tears weld up inside my eyes and fell backwards onto my bed, crying.

Meanwhile at the Malfoy Mansion....

"Draco, come here, darling." Draco comes walking down the stairs, dressing in one of his many designer suits. His freshly washed, platinium hair was brushed back. His everyday wear made him look like a dropdead beautiful, male model. "Yes, Mother...Father." His parents gesture for him to come join them in his Father's study. "Have a seat, my son. Your mother and I have something we need to discuss with you." Following directions, Draco sits down while his parents stand in front of him. "Since you are older, your Mother and I thought it's time we share some family secrets with you." The young boy listens eagerly. "It's about the Granger girl." Draco grimaces at the mention of the muggleborn's name. "The disgrace of my house." Draco laughs, until his he feels his mother backhand him. "Never speak that way of her again."

Draco rubs his head, glancing at his Mother like she'd lost her senses. "Am I missing something here?" Lucius hits his son once more for his insolence. "Silence yourself, so that I may explain." Draco glares at his parents, waiting for their reason for giving him a headache. "Hermione is your cousin." His mouth fell open, realizing his parents lost all thier wits. "She is the daughter of your Aunt Bellatrix." He shakes his head refusing to believe it. "She was stolen from your Aunt when she was but a day old."

How could they possibly know it's her, if they haven't seen her since she was A DAY old. "You could not possibly recgonize a person if you haven't seen them for an entire twelve years." Lucius and Narcissa once thought that as well, but there is no denying the truth. "It's the truth wheather you wish it to be or not, so be that as it may, you must watch out for her. She does not know who she is, and until she does, she'll be quiet lost." Draco shrugs his shoulders. "So why not tell her then?" If Hermione was, as his parents say, his cousin, she deserved to know where she comes from. "Becuase there is more at play than here." Draco waited for them to explain further. Lucius rolled his eyes at his nosy son. "She is also the daughter of the Dark Lord."

Draco slumped back into his chair. She was not only his cousin, but the daughter of his parent's master. That made her a pureblood. He and his friends made her life a living hell at the end of last year all for nothing. He'd betrayed his only cousin. Then the memories of their moments from the begining of the year became to flood into his mind. His cheeks turned scarlett red as he thought of the feelings he began to develop for his cousin. He shot out of his, causing his parents to jump back in surprise. He gave his Mother a worrisome expression. "I almost persuded my own cousin." Lucius and Narcissa smirked at their son. "Persuded her?" Draco's usual emotionless conveyed embarrassment all over. "She's a powerful witch. And she feisty and very easy on the eyes. I'd be surprised if I hadn't." Draco admitted. Narcissa comforted her son. "It's alright Draco. Family inbreeding is very common among us, purebloods. If you wished it so, I am sure a match between the two of you could be arranged in the near future."

Draco nervously, glanced between his parents, unsure of how to repsond. "Though, perhaps it might be better to withhold those feelings until after we can tell her who she is." His mother agreed. "But for now. We want you to provide her with whatever she needs. She should not want for anything. And ensure to associates with the right people. We heard how she saved that barmy Potter and that son of the blood- traitors. Keep her away from them." Draco agrred upon his parents wishes. Walking up to his room he started to make plans of how to amend his friendship with his cousin. Staring with a formal apologetic letter.

2 weeks later in Muggle London....

"Hermione, you have a letter!" I race down from my room in excitment. This was Draco's third letter and since we made up a week ago. After his heartful   letter he made it almost impossible to not forgive his behavior. He swore he'd spend all this year making up for it. And although he did hurt my feelings, I could really use someone to talk to right now about finding my birth parents. We'd made progress too. Thanks to him, I knew why my file was never in the database here in London. It was because I never was actually adopted in the Wizard World, which is where I was originally born. This all meant that my birth parents never terminated their rights. Which meant that in the Wizarding world I was legally still theirs. Now all that was left to do was track down my files and fiind their names.

Draco agreed to help until we found my parents. he wa really making an effort and for that I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. All in all this school year was going to be a great start.
