Waving farewell to my parents, I run through the brick wall located on 9 3/4 quarters platform. Once though the gateway, I watch as other students and some parents say their farewells. I felt it all to be somewhat questionable because the time was only 10:30 and the train does not depart until 11:00. However, the students must be in a hurry to board the train and findthe perfect seats before they're all taken. Since my parents did not come through the gateway, I had no reason to stand outside of the train, so I began to board. As I walked through the train, attemping to find a compartment to seat in a toad jumped out into the walk lane. Squealing, I jumped back allowing to roam futher away from it's original place.
Following the toad disappearance, I short, blacked hair boy rushed right into me. "Trevor, come back!" Catching my breath once more, I regain my balance as he turns to me. "Pardon me, but you did not happen to see a toad pass by, have you?" I think about advising him to watch where he is walking, but decide against it. "Yes, I did." His faces brightens. "Where did he go?" I give him a vague response, by pointing straight ahead. He looks at the direction I am gesturing to, but turns back to me with a expression of confusion. "Shall I help you find him, then?" He nods, and puts his hand. "I am Neville Longbottom." Placing my hand in his, I introduce myself. "C'mon, I am sure he could not have gone too far."
We spent 20 minutes looking for the amphibian with no luck. The train began to pile with students, which only complicated the search even more. I was about ready to give up when the train started to move. "Neville, I would like to be dressed in my robes in a timely fashion so perhaps we can search once we are dressed." Neville, saddened by my lack of faith, agrees. I pat his shoulder and leave him to go change into my Hogwarts uniform. I finished getting dressed and allowed Neville the compartment to dress himself, while I continued the search.
I decided to check each compartment again, but ask students as well. Perhaps I could make a friend or two along the way. Three or five compartments in I still remained toadless. I entered the next compartment where four students were conversing amongst themselves. Two girls and two boys. They all gave me looks of distain when I entered. "May we help you?" One of the girls snapped. "Have any of you see a toad?" I snicker came from the corner of the compartment where a platinum blonde boy sat. "Even if we had, why would we tell you?" I roll my eyes at their immaturity. "A simple yes or no will suffice." The boy continued to laugh. "Is the poor little numpty miffed?" I shake my head at his arrogance. "Yes, when am forced to have conversations with incompetent nobs such as yourselves, I tended to get a bit miffed."
Suddenly, I had two wands pointed at me from the boy and possibly his pissed lover opposite of him. The other boy and girl attempted to holdback their friends. I urged myself to leave before I ended up in trouble before even reaching the school. After leaving thier compartment, I could here slight yelling from them. I could not help to laugh at the entire conflict. I think I just made my first enemies. Perfect. Making my way to a different group a interupt a red haired noy in the middle of a spell gone awry. "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville lost one." The red head gives a flat at "no". Forgetting the missing frog. I urge him to continue. "Oh. Are you doing magic? Let's see then." He takes a cough before saying a 'spell' that has got me think perhaps he does not know what he is doing. As as usual I am right as we all watch his failed attempt at doing magic.
I hold back the laughter within me. Do not want to come across as mean, now do we. "Are you sure that's a real spell? Well it's not very good,is it?" I can tell that he feels insulted, but I ignore his expressions. And instead try to strike up a conversation. "Of course, I've only tried a few simple ones myself, but they've all worked for me." Taking it upon myself to show off, I make my way over to the red head's friend. Taking out my wand, I decide on a simple spell. "For example, Oculus Reparo." He appears flabbergasted as he examined his glasses. "That's better isn't it." I notice the lightning shaped scar on his forehead, causing me to realize who sat across from. "Holy cricket! You're Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger." Turning to the red head, I question his identity. "And you are?" He answers "Ron Weasley" as his stuffs his face with sweets. Giving him a forced smile I respond, "Pleasure." Preparing to return to my seat I advise them to change into their robes, and right as leave I turn back to the red head. "You've got dirt on your nose, by the way. Did you know? Just there." I gesture to the black shaded spot. Once he begins to scrub, I am off and awaiting for the arrival to the school.
