"No. Don't tell me. I don't want to know." Narcissa and Lucius appeared to approve of this decision, not that I cared if they agreed or not. "Hermione, you may do as you wish regarding this information. As far as your mother is concerned you are dead. Even if you wished to notify her that you are alive, we would not know how to get a message to her." I roll eyes at his advice. "Please, I doubt you don't have people who can get things like that done." Lucius smirked. "Smart girl." Nodding my head, I walk past him to where I put my belonging down and pick them up. I turn to birth mother's family with a saddening expression. "Thank you for telling me about where I came from...sorry that I asked." Without another word I flooed home, leaving behind part of the family I once longed to know, but now wish I never was born into.

Three years later....

"The bloody woman has gone mad, hasn't she?" Ron slammed his book down between Harry and I in library, while we continued on studying. "What is it that Umbridge has done now?" Harry inquires closing his book. I ignore them both as they discuss all the new rules that old hag has come up with. Complaining about her was not going to do much. Thankfully, we had Dumbledore's army, which she'd yet to find. Once they chattering became to much for my to bare, I slammed my book shut and hit them both on the arm with it. "You know if you both stopped running your mouths for a day or so, you might have a chance at passing your OWLs!" Rubbing their arms, they both glared at me. "Slimmy little snake! Why must you always hit me?"

Although, I've grown to love Harry's nonstop near death adventures and Ron's complusive whining over the past three years, they barely new anything about me. They were my only so called 'friends' that I trusted, yet I still could not tell them who I was. If I could then maybe they'd understand my rotten mood. "Must you twoonly think of yourselves at a time like this?" The two of them exchanged confused looks, then focused back on me, waiting for an explanation. "Have you not seen the Daily Prophet?" They shake their heads "no" and I toss them a copy from between the pages of my textbook.

They skim over the article with different facial expressions

They skim over the article with different facial expressions. Ron still unsure of how this related to them, remained confused. While Harry knew of the background of woman picture center page. "Recognize the name? You should. She's a know follower of you-know-who and she's the woman responsible for what happened to Neville's parents." Harry glared at the photo while Ron grimaced at the thought of the Longbottom's infamous torture. Harry crumbled the paper and glared back in my direction. "She's also Sirius' deranged cousin. Hermione is right. We should be paying more attention to what's going on. No doubt her escape was no accident. She's was freed by another one of his followers. They're growing in numbers and we need to figure out why. Voldemort is after something and we need to get to it before they do."

Sitting back down, I agree with Harry. Although, his reasoning for being upset laid on somewhat the same line as mine, they still did not understand my full reasoning for my foul mood. There is only one person who I could talk to about the matters on my mind.

Main Hall....

Stomping throught the tables compiled of students, I make my way over to the kids I've tried my best to avoid since that day, three years ago. As the exclusive group conversing amongst each other, I slam the newspaper down in front of him. They all fall silent as icy blue eyes meet mine. "We need to talk." His eyes fall onto the picture on the front of the paper then back to me, agreeing. I take his hand and lead him away form any nosey students. After examining our surrounding I turn back to my fellow housemate and cousin. Before I can speak, his appearance catches my attention. He'd grown taller and slender. He was thin, but still had a good about of muscle. His facial features matured as well. Only two things remained the same his platinum blonde hair and his beautiful icy eyes. "I don't know where she is?"

I shook myself out of my trance as the words left his mouth. "Your mother... I don't know where she is." He barely showed any emotion as he spoke.  I could read him to see if he was lying. He'd become expressionless just like his father. "So that's it, then? Your mother does not know anything either, I pressume?" He nods his head, agreeing once more. "And your father?" Draco shrugs his shoulders, with the same expression on his face. "You wouldn't lie to me, Draco? Would you? Not about this." He appears to comtemplate his response before shaking his head. "About everything else-yes. But not about this this. No." My head falls as a million more questions run through my head. "If we are done here, I think i'll leave you with your thoughts."

Without another thought or glance, he left me alone. I remember when he use to console me when I acted when I was distraught. He used to tell me everything was alright and that I wasn't alone. And on some levels he was right, because in his eyes I wasn't alone. That was until I rejected the closest thing I had to blood relatives in this world. Now he leaves me without a second thought as to what my state of mind is or how I am feeling. Draco could careless as of now. However, in moments like this I wished I'd handled things differently that day. My choice that day not only cost me my family, it cost me Draco.
