I boardered Hogwarts Express without so much as a goodbye from my Father. Mum only gave ma small hug and told me to be careful before releasing me to transport through the gateway to the train. I loaded my luggage before leaving to find Draco and the others. "Hermione, over here!" Daphne waves me over, and I am glad for it. I didn't want to wander the train like a lost puppy for much longer. Walking over to the compartment, I'm greeting politely by the entire group. Daphne, Pansy, Blaise then Draco. The girls move over so I can sit beside them. "How was your summer?" Daphne starts in on how she and her family went to Stockholm and she saw dragons. Pansy then interupted with her stories about visiting the wizards overseas. I look over to the boys as Pansy and Daphne continue to talk over each other. Blaise, uninterested per usual, reads his book. Meanwhile, I find Draco staring at me intensing. "What is it?" He shakes himself out of his trance. "Sorry, I zoned out." I accept his answer, not wanting to pry. "So when do you want to start on you-now-what about you-know-who."

That caught everyone's attention. They, of course, misunderstood the term "you-know-who". "What could you to be doing that to do with you-know-who?" Pansy exclaimed. Blaise, for the first time, was enticed by the conversation. Draco denies any questions as I start to laugh. "He is referring to someone else. We were talking about my birth parents." The three others were confused so Draco explained. "Hermione wasn't born into her muggle family. They adopted her, but her birth parents were never recorded in the muggle database." Blaise eyebrow shot up. "So then your birth parents aren't muggles." I nod my head yes. "I was born here in the wizarding world to a wizarding family. They never terminated their legal parental rights, so legally I am still theirs." Daphne and Pansy nodding attempting to follow along. "So then what does that make you?" I think about Pansy question, realzing I haven't given it much thought. "Half blood, I guess."

Draco shakes his head at my suggestion. "For all we know you could be a pureblood from one of the old families that people thought died off." The other three agree, but I shrug my shoulders, not wanting that to be true. "I hope i'm not." The four them appear offended by my statement. "I only mean, I hope I am part of a still living family. That way I have someone who'll want be as I am, unlike my adoptive parents who can't accept me as a witch." They're faces soften and Daphne and Pansy engulf in a hug. "Awww. you guys to have hearts." We are burth out laughing and continue to talk about possible famalies until we arrival at the station.
-------------------------------------
Sorting for the new first years is over and we begin to eat and talk amongst ourselves. As Pansy and I are discussing our classes this year, Daphne runs in from the hall to her spot next to Blaise. We all lean in to see what she is so riled up about. "Potter and Weasel flew from the muggle train station all the way to Hogwarts. And got caught trying to sneak into school unseen by Professor Snape." Draco and Blaise start predicting their punishment, while Daphne, Pansy and I complain about the idiocy of those two together." Draco taps my shoulder and points to the door. Potter and Ron come in, clothes somewhat tattered. Shoes covered in mud. And I swear I saw a twig or two inside Wesley's hair. "Plockers." I turn my attention back to Draco, who was staring at me. "Again with the staring, Malfoy. Do we need to take you to the infirmary?" He smirks. "Wag off." I laugh.
------------------------
The following morning before classes we were entertained by the Ron's mother howler. "The bloody woman is bonkers." Draco grimaces as Blaise pays us no mind. "She and her entire family." Daphne and I continue on praising on Draco for making the Quidditch team. "Never really saw you as the Quidditch type, Malfoy." Blaise looks up from his book, smacking his lips. "That's because he isn't." Draco shoves Blaise, as his best friends laughs it off. "C'mon, admit you only joined to beat Potter. You're not even that good of a seeker." Pansy admits. Daphne and I look to Draco for a response which he does not give. "Take the mickey, Malfoy."
----------------------------
With everyone else off doing their own thing, I came to watch Draco be trained for his new position as seeker. He'd help me find somethings in the library that could help me find my parents, so the least I could do was come support him. Draco cool esteem wavers as he over examines his teammates. I  grab his hand, rubbing my thumb against it. "You do fine." He looks down at my hand then back up at me, smirking. "I know." He laughs as I playfully push him. "I take it back. You'll fail...hard." He continues to laugh until the team starts to leave for the field. As we're walking, the Gryffindor team comes up, thus begining the face off. Beside a uniformed Harry, stand his sidekick, Weasel.

As the team lokk each other up and down so do we. "We have the field today." Wood argues with Marcus Flint. Marcus argues they need to practice to train their new seeker, who then is revealed as Draco, who comes out from behind the others smirking at Harry. "Malfoy?" Harry grins, unable to believe it. "That's right, Potter. That's not the only thing that's new this year. The Slytherin team shows off their new brooms. Ron's mouth drop open. "Those are nimbus 2001s! How did you that?" I shake my head, knowing Draco's about to start bragging about Daddy's money. "Unlike others, my father can actually afford best." Ron went from impressed to offended in less than a second.

He starting smirking as if he'd thought of some smart comeback. "At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way. Unlike you, they have pure talent." I stepped in to defend my friend. "And what exactly is your talent, Weasel? Other than kissing Potter's behind and worshipping the ground he walks, you are entirely useless." I look to my fellow Slytherins and they all smirk, agreeing. Ron steps in my personal space. "Who was talking to you? I mean if I'm not mistaken, you're a muggleborn. The lowest scum possible. Who could be more useless than you, filthy little mudblood." Everyone stood in silence for a good second or two as his words sunk in. My face dropped to hide the tears that were threatening to fall. I feel Darco step forward, from beside me. "You're going to regret that, Weasel." Draco pulls out his wand and directs it straight at Ron who is now backing up. "Expluso!" My head shoots up just in time to see Weasley flying backwards through the air, then slamming hard to the gound. He gets up to defend himself only to be shot down once more my Draco.

The Gryffindors quickly run over to a unconsious Ron as we Slytherins walk away satisfied. I feel Draco take my hand as we walk over to the field. mY eyes meet his, and I tighen my grip on his hand. "Thanks." He brings my hands to his lips, kissing it softly then rubbing it with his hand. "Always." I feel the blush rushing through my cheeks as he places my hand to my side. He walks backwards to the field, watching me as I go sit in the bleachers. I wave at him from my seat, signalling it's fine for him to focus now. I feel myself melt as he gives me his classic crooked grin, before turning to the rest of the team.
