How many times am I going to wake up with a pounding headache? God, it feels like every time my life is fine, something crazy happens and screws it all up.
"You should not have brought her here! It is not her time!" A harsh, yet angelic voice calls out.
Wait... haven't I heard this conversation before? Déjà vu?
Then there was a voice I was familiar with, Alex, "That's precisely what I told him mother, but his pigheadedness has led hi-"
Wait? Mother? Cupid and Alex's Mother is apart of this too?
"Quiet!" Their mother interrupts, "Speak up Cupid, why have you brought the girl here?"
"We told her and she freaked out..." Cupid mumbled shamefully, "but I didn't want to use compulsion on her." Compulsion? What could that mean? This day just kept getting weirder.
"You knew the plan! Why did you tell her!?"
"Someone broke into my house!" He said defensively, "Completely trashed the place! They left a note." There was a crinkle of paper as he uncrumbled it. I opened my eyes slightly to see him handing it off to his mother.
She was beautiful. Not just beautiful, godly. It almost made me forget why I was here.
I let out a small groan and scrunched my eyes shut.
"This conversation is no longer private..." Alex interrupted before her mother could respond.
I opened my eyes and slowly sat up from where I was on the ground. I rubbed my head and sighed.
"Cupid," I croaked out, my mouth was as dry as the desert. I took a quick glance around the room for any exits, but when I returned my gaze, he was standing in front of me. He seemed concerned and despite the fact that he kidnapped me, it made my cheeks heat in a way that I knew I was blushing.
"Hi..."
"How are you?" He asked.
"Thirsty."
Cupid opened his mouth to respond but was instead interrupted.
"Take her to one of the bedrooms, she needs to rest," I looked over at his mother, still a little dazed. A soft bed seemed like the best thing I. The world right now, but I needed to leave.
"What about the message?" Alex spoke up, "Jess isn't like us yet, she won't be able to hold out long against Hera."
"We will discuss this after Hannah is taken care off," The older woman decided. I looked up at her & was surprised to meet her gaze.
I manage to find my words despite the dreariness that was washing back over me.
"Where's Jess?"
And then everything went black.
Again.
