I woke up bright and early, for once, wanting to talk to Namjoon about Taehyung, before both him and I have to go to work. I read Taehyung's folder last night and find out some things. I was planning on letting it go until Taehyung decided to bring it up, but after seeing something like that, I can't just sit back and ignore it, which is why I need to ask Namjoon for advice.
I got dressed in my work clothes, which was a black polo shirt and khaki pants, then went downstairs and into the kitchen, seeing both Namjoon and his Little at the kitchen island, eating breakfast.
"Hey hyung, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked, biting my lip. "It's very important." I added.
He saw the look in my eyes and nodded. He looked at his Little, who I just now heard was named Jinnie, kissing his head and excusing himself out of the kitchen and towards the living room.
"Alright, what's the important thing you wanted to say?" He asked, concerned.
I took a deep breath and looked at him, ready to just say it and get it off my chest.
"Last night, when I was giving Taehyung a bath, I saw these...scars." I told him.
Namjoon's eyes grew wide. "Self-harm scars?" He asked, in a whisper.
"No, there weren't self-harm scars, they were...burn scars. Like, they're everywhere, even on his back." I said. "I read his folder and it said that his old caregiver used to abuse and neglect him." I said, looking up at Namjoon, tears threatening to fall. "How could someone do that to him? Why would someone do that to him?" I said, my voice threatening to crack, but quickly cleared my throat to prevent that from happening.
Namjoon nodded, listening and understanding everything that I was telling him. "If I was in your situation, I would wait until Taehyung is comfortable enough to open up about it. Until then, just make him feel loved, make him feel safe, make sure he's well taken care of, and just make him happy, Kook. Just like he's giving you time to get the hang of being a caregiver, give him time to open up about something like that, it could trigger him by talking about it and you don't want that." He said.
I nodded, listening to every word he was telling me, understanding and getting where he was coming from.
"Thanks hyung, I really needed to hear that."
"No problem, Kook, I told you I would help you." He said, patting my back. "Now if you will excuse me, I wanna spend the last half hour with my Jinnie." He said, before walking away.
I decided to go upstairs and check on Taehyung, since I haven't seen him since I tucked him in last night. I walked down the hallway and knocked lightly on Taehyung's bedroom door, before slowly coming in.
"TaeTae, are you awake?"
"Yes daddy, I'm awake." He said, sitting up from the floor, where his stuffies were. "Me, BrownBear, and BlueBear were just having a tea party, want to join?" He asked happily.
"As fun as that may sound, I can't, I have to go to work."
Taehyung's face went from happy to sad within seconds, tears already starting to form. "B-But TaeTae will be lonely, TaeTae does not wike being lonely." He said, his voice already starting to crack.
