"I'm so sorry hun" Victoria says hugging me after I tell her what happened
"We're Just not meant to be, better I know now you know?" I say wiping away my tears and she just nods and her phone rings
"Shit sorry" she says
"No it's okay go ahead" I say and she nods gratefully and walks away to answer. When she comes back she has a face of guilt
"Gaby I'm so sorry I have to go back to campus for an hour to help out in the library I completely forgot I volunteered for that" she says with a groan making me laugh
"It's okay Vic really I'm fine, you go on ahead and we'll meet at the movies when you're done okay?" I ask
" You're the best" she says hugging me making me laugh
We say our goodbyes and I just continue on window shopping
I spot a Starbucks and decide to get a coffee to pass time waiting for Vic and I take a seat at a table when I see someone I never thought I'd see again.
"Gabriella?" A familiar voice asks and I look up and I see him.
Andrew.
I just stare out him not being able to speak.
"Is that you?" He asks but I still don't speak
I can't.
He takes the seat in front of me and looks intently at my face. When he finally confirms it's me he's smiles and reaches his hand out to take my into his but I flinch from his touch and he sighs sadly
"Please say something" he says softly and my eyes begin to water
Don't you dare cry in front of him.
"I have to go" I say getting up from the table quickly and walking fast out the door, but he follows.
"Gabriella please wait" he says running after me and I do.
I'm an idiot.
He comes in front of me and looks me in my eyes and my tears start flowing
"Please don't cry, I'm not worth your tears" he says softly while wiping my tears away and the feel of his touch makes me sigh in relief
Here in front of me was the first boy that made me feel beautiful when I wasn't. The first boy I made love to. The first boy I ever loved.
"I'm just asking for five minutes please" he says and I nod
What am I doing?
We take a seat on a bench and I wait for him to begin
"Can I first ask what you're doing here in New York?" He asks softly
"I go to NYU" I say quietly
"Wow NYU? That's amazing you've always dreamed of going there" he says
Yeah cause I wanted to be near you. But I just nod
"You look amazing" he says referring to my new silhouette and I just nod again not being able to speak and he sighs
"About the whole break up thing, I'm so sorry that I hurt you the way I did I- don't" I say cutting him off
"No Gabriella please I need to say this" he insists
"Breaking up with you the way I did was the worst thing I ever done, I just I was tired of having a long distance relationship it sucked. And I was lonely and I met this girl and one thing led to another an- and you cheated on me" I finish for him
"You were lonely? Yeah I was lonely too but I would never do to you what you did to me. I was committed to you I was in love with you trying to move to New York for you for god sakes. And what happens? You cheated on me because you never felt the same way about me that I felt for you" I say calmly
"No Gabriella I did love you I really did in fact I still do" he says and I feel like I might faint
"What?" I asked shocked
"I still love you Gabriella how could I not? You're everything that I've ever wanted and that's exactly why I've been trying to find you" he says
"Trying to find me?" I asked confused
"Yeah, I've been trying to contact some of your relatives on social media, anything to be able to find you again" he says but I still stay quiet
Andrew still loves me. But what about Aiden?
Their is no Aiden he rejected me last night.
"I don't know what to say" I answer quietly
"Say you'll go out with me tomorrow night, give me another chance" he pleads
"I don't think that's a good idea" I say hesitantly
"Please Gabriella just one night, and if you still don't wanna be with me afterwards then I'll leave you alone for good, I promise" he says
"Can I just think about it?" I ask
"Of course take as long as you need" he says and I nod
"My number" he says passing me a piece of paper which I take
"I'm so happy I found you again" he says softly and just like that he's gone again.
"Gaby was who was that?" Victoria asks coming up behind me making me jump in surprise
"Andrew" I whisper and her eyes widen
"That's him??" She asks surprised and I nod
"What the fuck what did that asshole want?" She asks angrily
"Another chance" I say softly while clutching the piece of paper he gave me tightly
"You told him to fuck off right?" She asks but I stay quiet confirming her answer
"You can't be serious Gaby" she says her voice full of disappointment
"He told me he still loves me" I whisper
"He's lying Gaby please don't fall for his games" she pleads
She's right, I can't fall for his games again. But I think I still love him.
"I have to go" I say and just like that I run away and I hear her yelling my name begging me to stop but I just keep going.
