song: how to love, lil wayne

[Hayes]

"Oh god." I laughed at Dillon, who was telling me about his 'first time."

"Yeah man! That chicks momma was crazy! She was like 'Young man, if I ever see you, I'll chop your dick off'" He folded his arms, mocking a older lady voice, making me and Carter belch over in laughter. We were currently heading back to our rooms, when everyone went back to the hotel, we decided to explore Illinois a bit more.

Carter wiped his eyes and let out another chuckle. "You're crazy ma- What's that sound?" He stopped. We went quiet, trying to hear what he heard. It sounded like crying. I turned to where the noise was coming from, it was outside of Teagan and Cj's door.

I furrowed my eye brows, looking at them, before opening the door slowly. It was pitch black. "Hello?" I whispered. The crying began again. I looked harder, and saw a small figure crying into a pillow. It was Teagan. "Oh Tee..." I looked at the guys, and put a finger up, signaling I'll be back and walked in, closing the door. "What's wrong?" I sat down next to her, rubbing her back.

She looked up. She looked terrible. Like, really bad. "I don't want to talk about it, Hayes." See sniffled, laying her head back down.

I turned on the lamp next to her bed. "Was it Matthew?" I asked, balling up my fists. "I'll fuck him up if you want me to, Tee. I'll swing on that dude like I did on Mark Gray when he kissed my girlfriend in second grade." I stood up, swinging.

She smiled, laughing weakly. Oh, that smile. "No, Hayes." She frowned, looking away. "Its not Matt." She wiped her eyes.

I sat back down, wiping the hair out of her face. "What happened, curly head?" I asked, my hand lingering on her cheek.

"Why doesn't he want me Hayes? W-why doesn't my dad want me?" She sobbed, tears rolling down her face. "I-I don't u-." Her tears drowned her voice out. She couldn't speak.

I pulled her in my arms, rocking her. "Shh." I rested my hand on the back of her head, holding her close as she cried into my shirt, holding onto me.

"I don't understand, Hayes. Did I do something to make him go? We were so happy, I must have done something." She hiccuped.

I shook my head, pulling back. "Teagan Ann, look at me." I looked at her. She looked up at me. "Him leaving, was not your fault. At ALL, never, ever! Blame your self for this... baby, he didn't deserve you.." I sighed, laying my forehead against hers. "I love you, Tee." I whispered.

She calmed down, letting out a breathe. "I love you, Pooh bear." She whispered back, closing her eyes.

I pulled her back into my arms, resting my chin upon her head. I need to do something about this, I just don't know what yet.

"Hayes?" She questioned lowly.

"Hm?" I responded.

"Can you stay in here with me tonight?" She asked.

I just nodded, pulling back and laying down. She laid down, facing my way. "Remember when we use to sneak in each others window? To watch Spongebob and eat pizza rolls?" She asked.

I laughed lightly, shaking my head "Yes, yes I do." She smiled, laughing. "I've missed you this last year." I sighed.

"I've missed you too, Hayes. You were my best friend all my life. Of course it hurt me to let you go... But, you also hurt me." She frowned.

She was right. I hurt her, terribly. "I'm sorry. I know, it's just a word... But I truly am, Tee."

She smiled weakly. "It's okay, Hayes. I forgive you." She stuck her pinky out. "Best friends forever, right?"
