"So get this, a thirty- eight year old man was attacked in his home three days ago." Sam said breaking the silence that had surrounded the room.

"Okay, that doesn't really sound like a case though." You felt bad for the loss of life, but it did not sound like your kind of thing.

Sam grinned at you. "Let me finish, the mans heart was missing, and the doors were locked from the inside." Sam finished, his grin growing a bit at the look of confusion on your face. "Does that sound like our kind of gig y/n?" Sam asked still smiling at you.

"Yes, now that I think about it it does. What do you think it is?" You were not entirely sure what it could be.

"Well my first thought was werewolf, cause of the missing heart, but the doors were all locked from the inside. Werewolves generally don't unlock a door, kill their victim, then lock the door behind them. So I really don't know either." Sam said as he got up. "I'm gonna go tell Dean we found a case then get packed. Meet you at the impala in fifteen minutes."

You jumped out of your chair and raced over to Sam to give him a hug. You were excited, and wanted to thank him for helping you find your first case. He hugged you back without saying a word then turned around to go find his brother.

You were smiling as you turned back to the table to close the laptops and put the books away.

"So your a hunter?" Your head turned toward the sound of Kevin's voice. He was still sitting at the table with the demon tablet in front of him.

"Yes I am a hunter, well kinda, this is my first hunt." You said shyly. Kevin was staring at you, studding you and it made you uncomfortable.

"Have you ever had any experience with the supernatural before?" Kevin questioned you, his tone harsh and slightly accusing.

"Um no not really, I mean I know Castiel, and I have met a few other angels before, but that's it."

"Really? It makes sense that you would know some angles, considering you are one." His voice rose and he stood up as he accused you. "Who are you really, and why are you here?"

"How did you know I was an angel? I don't even have my grace anymore." You questioned. You were completely baffled, there is no way he should know what you were.

"Honestly, I don't know. It just came to me. I didn't really believe it though, till you confirmed it just now." His tone was becoming sassy, and he was raising his voice. If he did not keep his voice down one of the Winchesters was likely to hear him.

"I am not even an angel anymore, my grace was stolen. I'm human." You willed him to keep his voice down. You hoped it worked.

      It did not.

"Why are you here? What do you want with Sam and Dean?" He all but yelled at you.

"Kevin please stop yelling. I'm here because Castiel asked Sam and Dean to look out for me. The angels are hunting Castiel and I, they blame us for the fall." You tried to keep an even tone throughout your whole explanation. You were becoming anxious, thinking maybe one of the boys had overheard the conversation.

Kevin studied you for a moment. "They don't know what you are, do they?" He questioned, at least this time he was not shouting.

"Were. I was an angel. Past tense. I am human now." You emphasized the "were" part, you wanted to make sure that your point got across clearly. You were no longer an angel, at least till Castiel found your grace.

Kevin looked like he was about to say something else, but he was cut off by someone entering the room.

"Y/n you better hurry up and get your stuff ready. We are leavening in like five minutes." Dean smirked at you.

You were frozen in place. What if he heard what we were talking about. You thought. He did not look like he had. He was just smiling, and waiting for you to go get your things. You decided that he hadn't, if he had he would have stormed in the room, and kicked you out or worse.

"I'm going now. I'll meet you at the car." You smiled back at him then ran off to your room to pack your bag for the hunt.

Ten minutes later you were running to the Impala as it slowly started to pull out of the garage. They were leaving you! You ran as fast as you could, your small duffel swinging all around as you raced to the car. Suddenly Dean stoped and if you had reacted a moment later you would have ran into the car.

After you collected your senses you deposited your bag in the trunk and made your way to the passenger side door. As soon as you opened the door you could hear Sam and Dean's laughter.

You pouted as you slid into the back seat. "That wasn't funny."

Sam turned back in his seat to look at you. "Yeah it kinda was y/n. The look on your face when we started driving away was priceless."

"I fail to see how any of this is funny." You crossed your arms over your chest.

Sam noticed that you were not happy and stoped laughing instantly. Dean had stoped laughing ages ago, but you only noticed it now.

"Y/n I'm sorry about that. It was uncalled for." Sam hung his head in shame. His trademark puppy dog eyes were downcast. The sight was absolutely heart breaking. You decided that you never wanted to see that look on Sam again. Ever.

You leaned forward and placed your hand on his shoulder. "It's okay Sam, no harm was done." You said with a smile, trying to make him feel better.

He looked up at you, his brilliant hazel eyes sweeping over your face. "It was still uncalled for."

You smiled brightly at him. "Sam forget about it. You are forgiven." He smiled back at you before turning back around in his seat.

"Come on let get going already." Dean said as he shifted Baby into drive and pulled out of the garage.

You sat back and got comfortable, your mind racing. Kevin nearly blew your cover just a few minutes ago, the boys started to leave without you, which you still could not find the humor in and lastly Dean seemed to be upset about something.

That fact that Dean was mad became very obvious as you drove farther down the road. He had turned off the radio for one. Sam had questioned it but Dean just shrugged it off saying he just didn't feel like listing to music. And second the atmosphere in the car had changed. This change seemed to be centered around Dean. It made for a very uncomfortable car ride, and a bad start to your first hunt.
