Asking the girl of my dreams to prom was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be, I thought she would be like, "Okay lets go to Prom!" but no, she had to go,"Why?" I don't know if she expected a big promposal or something.

"Why not?" I asked and she gave me a strange look.

"Sorry, but I'm not going to prom." She told me and I looked at my feet awkwardly and shifted from foot to foot.

"Why not?" I asked, and she shrugged, hugging her text books closer shyness overcoming her as she avoids my gaze. Her glasses had started to slip down the bridge of her nose as she looked at the ground.

"I'm just not big on dances." She told me with a simple shrug as if prom was no big deal.

"Is there anyway I can change your mind?" I asked, desperate for her to say yes. She shrugged again and looked down the halls taking a sudden interest in the lockers.

"I don't know if anything can change my mind." She told me in a shy tone, her voice grew quieter with each word she said,"Prom just isn't my thing."

She quickly looked up, worry etching onto her face as the warning bell went off, signaling that classes are about to start. She speed walked towards her next class and I followed.

"Please," I pleaded,"I think I can change your mind! I can get you to want to come to prom with me!"

She looked up at me, a mix of emotions masking her face and she looked around, she sighed looking unsure,"I don't know..." She trailed off looking back into the direction her class was in.

"Just give me some chances," I pleaded,"I'm sure I can change your mind."

"You really want to try?" She asked me, looking a bit confused,"Um, I guess you could try to change my mind..."

"Really?" I asked, excitement filling me, she held up her finger, signaling that she wasn't  finished speaking.

"But you only have a few tries." She told me, her shy tone suddenly taken over by a confident one.

"Fine, Twenty tries..." I began but she interrupted.

"What? No, five." She told me.

"What!? I need more chances then that! How about fifteen?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Thats too much, seven." She turned to head to her class but I stopped her.

"Ten?" She turned and looked at me, looking in thought for a moment before letting out a sigh and holding her hand out for me to shake. "Deal."

I grinned as I took her hand and gave it a slight shake,"Deal."

"Now I really have to get to class, I'll probably get detention." She told me and I nodded in agreement.

"That makes two of us." We both took off in different directions and I had one thought running through my head.

I have ten attempts to change Haily's mind about Prom.
