Ten Reasons

Reason 2 part 3

"So where are we going?" Haily asked me, the look of curiosity on her face. I smiled and glanced at her. "You'll have to wait and see."

She started jumping on her seat a little and I glanced at her again before looking back at the road,"Nervous?"

"Yeah, I've never been on a date before." She told me then her eyes widen,"I probably shouldn't have said that."

I smiled and glanced at her again,"Don't worry, I've never been on a date before either."

She looked at me, surprise visible on her face,"Really? I thought that...oh, never mind."

"You thought that what?" I asked her and her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. "I thought you've been on tons of dates and stuff like this since you know...your...uh, your quite good looking...how come you've never been on a date before?" She practically demands.

I let out a light laugh,"Thank you. I've just never been brave enough to ask someone out." I told her and she looked confused.

"Then why did you ask me out?" She asked and I smile at her.

"Because I like you, and I really want to change your mind about prom." I told her and her pink cheeks turned even darker.

She looked out the window and gasped as the beach came into view,"Here we are."

She quickly unbuckled her seat and got out of the truck,"I love the beach!"

I smiled and got out of the truck. As soon as I closed the truck door and locked it Haily grabbed my hand and tugged me down towards the water, small waves crashed onto the shore. She ran into the water until it was a little above her ankles,"Come on Jack!"

I smiled and followed her, she grabbed my hand again and pulled me deeper out into the water. She turned around and splashed me. I gasp in shock as the water hit me.

I turned to her and she had a grin on her face. I grabbed her by the waist and dunked her under water. She immediately came up and pushed me over. I resurfaced and she laughed at me.

She ran back towards the shore and I chased after her. She ran across the sand, leaving footprints behind her and I followed her, the soft sand made it a bit easer to chase after her since my feet were hitting a soft surface.

I finally caught up with Haily and grabbed her hand, she giggled as I spun her around,"Gotcha!" I exclaim,"Now don't go anywhere, I'm going to go get the food out of the truck."

Her face lit up and a huge smile broke out across her face,"Food?" She asked and I laughed.

"Yes, food." I told her and she ran towards the truck. So much for her not going any where.

I followed her to the truck and unlocked it. She opened the back door and looked around, she grinned at me when she saw the picnic basket I had prepared. She grabbed the basket and and ran back down the beach.

I grabbed the radio Marcy let me borrow and I closed the truck door and locked it before chasing after her. She picked a spot close to the water but not to close. She turned to me with a big smile then she saw the radio in my hand.

I opened the basket and pulled the picnic blanket out, I layed it on the sand and smoothed it out. I took the food out of the basket and set them up.

"So what college do you want to go to?" I asked Haily as she munched on some grapes. She looked up at me and a proud smile crept onto her face.

"Disney University." She told me and I raised my eyebrows. "You must really like Disney." I told her and she nodded.

"Its pretty much all I watch, read, and listen too." She told me and I nodded,"What about you? What college do you want to go to?"

"Standford University." I told her and she smiled. I looked up right as the sun started going down.

I stood up and offered my hand for Haily to take. She looked confused but took it. I turned on the radio and played 'Perfect' by 'Ed Sheeran.' Haily realized what I was doing and a soft smile appeared on her lips.

We started slow dancing as the sun went down,"You know another reason you should go to Prom with me?" I asked her and she smiled. "Chance number 2, why?" I smiled at her.

"At prom, we could dance together all night." I told her and she smiled.

"Thats cheesy." She told me and I laughed.

"Did it work?" I asked her and she shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know if its enough to get me to come, but it was cute."

I twirled her around and she giggled,"Your going to make me dizzy."
