Chapter 11 ~ Secret Operations

Rin groaned as Zetsu dropped her. 

Someone crushed her in a hug. 

"Hi... Big... Sharkie." 

"Hey, Baby Shark." 

"L-Let go... Dying..." 

"Oh, sorry!" 

And she was dropped again. 

The kunoichi stayed on the floor with a sigh. 

She'd get dropped again in a while anyways. 

And that was after getting suffocated. 

It still made her smile. 

But when she took a closer look at Kisame's expression, she quickly realized that something was wrong.

"Minato-sensei! Hold up!" Obito leapt into battle, using his clumsiness as an excuse to "accidentally" cut off his teacher's attack. 

"Obito!" Minato exclaimed indignantly. "That wasn't a smart place to land!" 

Locking eyes for a second with the blond, Obito's Mangekyo Sharingan flashed and he took Deidara to a different dimension. 

The moment they landed, he hoisted the poor sculptor up. 

"What the hell did you do with Rin?!"

Deidara groaned. The moment he saw their damned teacher, he knew he was going to be fried. He was almost grateful the Uchiha - why were they all so protective? - had whisked him out of existence in the worldly plane, if only just for a while. 

"Nothing, un," he said. "They took her back to the hideout is all." 

"Why? Can't you guys do it without a fight?" Obito asked, letting go of him and sitting down with a resigned thump. 

"No." The sculptor brushed himself off and sat down across from him. "It's payback. Your teacher ignored our message. We have a dying member." His shoulders slumped in defeat. 

Obito said nothing. 

"F*CK!" Deidara screamed, banging a fist onto the ground. "If she dies, it's all your fault!"

As far as Obito knew, the Akatsuki only had one female member besides Rin. 

He watched the sweat streaming down Deidara's face, the worry and frustration and desperation in his sapphire eyes. 

Then, the blond raised them to meet his onyx ones. 

"You'll help, won't you?" he asked. "You'll help me get away?" 

The Uchiha frowned. He'd never actually spoken to the female teen - Konan, was it? Why should he help? 

Well, that was obvious. 

They were Rin's friends. 

And then again... he supposed they were his friends too. 

The Uchiha sighed, a small, grudging smile touching his lips. 

He imagined how grateful Rin would be, how he would have her thanks and attention for at least a full day. 

"I'll do what I can."

Kakashi jumped back when Obito reappeared, carrying a limp figure on his back. 

"Boom," he said. "All done."
