"Megan, you're never going to beat me!" I yelled at Megan.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that if I were you," Megan said not looking away from the screen. We were playing Mario Kart at my lovely house, I am just exaggerating about my house. I am surprised that Megan always wants to spend time at my else instead of hers. Her house is mostly quiet all the time because it is only her and her parents. Whenever I go over there it is always a vacation away from the craziness that goes on at my house.
My brother came into the conversation saying,"Should I come play so that someone will actually win." He was pointing at himself trying to point out that he is an awesome player, which actually is not a lie. He beats me most of the time when I play him. If I do beat him he always becomes a sore loser.
"We can play later when Megan isn't here," I told James when the game was over. I actually beat Megan at the last second. I climbed out of the bean bag chair to come face to face with my disgusting brother. I could barely see his dark brown eyes because his hair was blocking me from seeing them. "And I will crush your poor little soul and rip it apart," I harshly said to James.
"I know you wouldn't do that because you are too nice, but I will," James spit out of his mouth. Our faces were only a few inches apart and we were both glaring at each other.
"You guys are already fighting and it is only the week after school ended," Megan came back into the conversation. I almost forgot that my best friend was still sitting in the same room as my brother and I.
"Ha ha, very funny Megan," my brother sarcastically laughed at my friend. He put his hands on his hips to put a little more sass into it.
"Don't be mean to her, you barely even know anything about her," I spoke to my brother trying my best to defend Megan. I pushed James, further deepening the argument.
"Oh no you didn't," James said while pushing back at me. We continued to wrestle while Megan got up from her seat and watched us in horror. She is an only child so she has never learned even the basics of living with a sibling. She is so oblivious that she even believes that siblings agree with one another all the time. I kind of feel bad for her for not being knowledgeable in this field.
"You guys should stop otherwise I'm telling your parents about your fight," Megan said sternly trying to break up the fight. She hopped in between us to make an even bigger help. She put her hands on both of our chests trying to break us apart. She did succeed at this task.
"We were just play fighting. Siblings do it all the time," I lied to Megan once my brother and I stopped fighting. Luckily for us, Megan fell for it. Since she is an only child, my brother and I can get away with pretty much anything when she is around. My brother then sneaked out of the room leaving Megan and I wondering what to do.
"Do you have any ideas of what we should do?" I asked Megan slumping back down into the bean bag chair.
"Maybe we could go to the pool again," Megan suggested.
"We just went yesterday and I think I still have some water in my ears," I said while I tilted my head and hit it a couple of times. I seriously was not lying about the whole water thing.
"How about we ride our bikes over to the lake," Megan suggested while rubbing the back of her neck. I'm guessing she ran out of ideas.
"Sure, why not," I agreed. It actually seemed like a good idea. A nice bike ride to the lake and back seems like something that could really calm me down from the fight I just had with my brother.
Megan rode her bike over to my house so she was lucky enough to not have to use James' bike. His bike is horrific, it is covered in duct tape just to hold it together. This is completely different from Megan's perfectly clean pink bike. She is definitely a total girly girl.
"It's getting a little dark out," Megan pointed up directly looking at the darkening sky.
"It's just because it is 6:00 in the afternoon and by the way it isn't too dark yet," I told Megan while beginning to ride my bike down the road.
"Wait up for me," Megan yelled out to me trying to get her bike started.
"Only if you can catch up to me," I yelled back to Megan continuing to ride on. I kept on laughing when she got close and I then I sped up just to make it a little bit harder for her. She finally caught up to me when I was stopped by a stop sign.
"Got ya!" Megan scared me from behind.
"Only because of this stop sign," I still wanted to have pride in my fast riding. We continued on to the lake which took another 10 minutes.
"Isn't it beautiful," Megan said amazed at the beauty of the lake. The lake was a blueish-green color. Some trees were still blooming which made some tree flowers float through the air. Some frogs were only a few feet away from us just croaking away. Megan and I laid down our bikes on the ground when I noticed something from the past.
"Hey! There's our tree from when we were younger," I noticed the tree that Megan and I always hung out by whenever we came to the lake. We would always play tag or gossip about our classmates by this tree.
Megan interrupted my memory by asking,"Do you remember what we even called this tree?" She walked up to the tree and gently rubbed her hand across its rough surface.
"I think we called it MC's Magical Fort," I tried to remember the odd name we gave this tree. I sat down next to Megan who already had her back up against the tree.
"Oh yea," she agreed upon my remembrance. We both just sat there sighing about the magnificent view that was now all around us. "I wish I could live here," Megan spoke peering at me.
"Me too, next summer maybe we could build our own little house right here on the lake," I spoke pointing to an open field across the lake from us.
"Don't expect me to do a lot of the building since I haven't had much experience in that field," Megan honestly told me while looking at the lightly shaded grass. She is clearly disappointed about a skill that she doesn't have.
"That's ok, our parents could help us," I said nudging at her shoulder. "Well I think that we should start heading back since it is getting even darker out," I noticed how the sky was turning from blue to a dark purple.
We both got up from the soft grass and grabbed our bikes off the ground. Megan and I started off down the road, I again was completely ahead of Megan.
