A Sorrow Funeral

It's now Wednesday, the Wednesday when it's her funeral, Megan's funeral. I woke up bright and early to prepare myself for what I was going to have to face today. Hopefully I'll be able to contain myself from breaking down in front of everyone that will be attending. It will be hard since the casket will be open for myself to see her broken body which used to hold a soul of an incredible person.

We would have to leave around 9:00 am so I decided to get up at around 7:00 am, plenty of time for me to get ready. It was awkward when my brother came down the stairs, I haven't seen him since the day that Megan died. He spent all the days leading up to today in his lonely bedroom. He didn't want to come out, not even once except for using the bathroom. My mom even had to bring him food to eat, but when she did that, he made her set it on the ground outside of his door. He then would slowly open the door and quickly grab the meal when she left. I'm just taking a guess but I'm thinking that this might have something to do with Megan and his crush on her.

"Hey," he said. He is dressed really nice, he is wearing an all black suit with a blue and black striped tie. I wouldn't be surprised if Megan would have had a crush on my brother.

"Hi, I see that you actually want to come," I said.

"Well I wanted to pay my respects. You know how I felt about her," he said as he sadly slumped down into the same couch that I was sitting in.

"I know," I bent my head to fit on his shoulder. We spent a while in the position before our mom surprised us from out of the blue.

"What is happening?" She asked confused. "This is definitely a first," she began walking down the stairs in front of us. "I should go get the camera!" Her eyes became larger as she thought of the idea and a huge grin was appearing on her face.

"No!" My brother and I sad in unison as we both jumped off the couch in fear. We never, ever have enjoyed our mom taking sibling pictures of us. She would always show the rest of the family at holidays, she just loves to embarrass us.

"Fine," she looked a little annoyed of us not letting her take another photo. "Do you want breakfast then?" She asked.

"Only if their are pancakes involved," I started walking up to my room to get changed. I changed into a very dark blue dress with a black belt around the waist. The sleeves were a 3/4 quarter length. I then put on black flats to match the belt. I decided not to do any makeup today and to just straighten my hair. I guess my mom actually agreed with me to make pancakes because after I put my straightener back into the drawer I instantly smelt the fresh smell of homemade breakfast filled with sausage, eggs, bacon, and of course PANCAKES!

I quickly sprinted downstairs to beat my brother to the meal. I almost ran him over when I ran through the living room on the way to the kitchen.

"Whoa there, remember that I am made up of flesh, bone and blood here too," he spoke angrily.

"Sorry," I said while waving my hand back at him to make it more sincere. I really didn't mean to almost run in to him.

"Hi mom," I sat myself into one of the chairs next to the counter where all the delicious food was laying on the plates.

"Hi Cassidy, enjoy the food but remember to save some for me and your brother," she spoke while putting the last of the plates filled with food down.

"Ok," I said right as I was putting 3 large pancakes onto my plate.

"James, breakfast is ready," my mom loudly said so that James could hear her.

"I know, Cassidy almost ran me over during her race to the kitchen," he walked into the kitchen and sat into the seat to my left.
