Hyejin sat at the dining table with her laptop. Now that she had to live here, she needed to get her position at the fashion company transferred to the head quarters in Korea from the smaller branch in Dubai. Luckily the employers were good people, and accepted her letter, leading Hyejin to bounce in her seat.

"Why are you so happy, without me?" arms circled around her shoulders, and she felt a head on hers. She could smell the cologne, and instantly knew who it was, smiling at the presence.

"I can still work here! They accepted my transfer letter!" she held his arms and bounced again, while Yunu kissed the top of her head. She jumped out of her seat and hugged him tight.

"We just met two days ago, and you already missed me so much?" he kissed her temple as she swayed in his arms.

"You surprise me, then left. Of course I would miss you. Go change now, I made dinner." Yunu left to shower and change, tired from the travel, while Hyejin prepared the table. They soon sat to eat, but Hyejin suddenly ran to the toilet, and threw up. Yunu followed her, and patted her back, holding her close to him with one hand.

"Cooking fried rice was bad enough, you shouldn't have eaten it too." he helped her up and carried her to bed, laying her down. He went back to the kitchen, and came back with some strawberry juice. She sat up, and he helped her drink it before she laid down again. He sat next to her, holding her hand and caressing it.

"Yunu, there's something I want to know. How did you find out?" he snickered, kissing her hand. He took out his phone and showed her a selfie.

"Recognise anyone here?" Hyejin looked closely at the picture, then looked back at Yunu

"Recognise anyone here?" Hyejin looked closely at the picture, then looked back at Yunu.

"OK, one, why did you use this filter? And two, isn't that Sunhee?" she pointed at a blonde girl at the top of the picture, and Yunu nodded grinning. Hyejin looked at him with an unreadable expression on her face.

"Were you... did you, like, get together..."

"Yea... When I broke up with her, we decided to stay friends and keep in touch, since she was nice. This was taken two weeks before I found you, when some of us met up for a mini reunion. Don't worry. No one can replace you for me, even if you ever died." she looked away and secretly smiled, then looked back to him when it hit her.

"But, what does this have to do with how you know?"

"Do you know what Sunhee is now?" he smirked as she shook her head.

"She's a nurse. At ______ Hospital." Hyejin stared at him wide eyed, and Yunu snickered.

"And, she was the nurse who helped you. You probably didn't recognise because she wore a mask, but she called me after and told me everything." he placed a hand on her tummy, patting it. Hyejin seemed deep in thought for a while, then smiled at him.

"Now, I want to ask you, what did you do, after you left?" Yunu looked at her seriously, and she figured it was best to tell him everything. From the night they came back from Ansan...

After she fell asleep, Yunu went back home while Heesun returned to her assignment. Hansol stayed in the room, not wanting to leave his sister alone. He soon fell asleep, and Hyejin got up. She looked around and locked the door, taking out her laptop. She went to their university's website, and checked out the other branches. There was one shown in Tokyo, and she clicked it. It was easy to get a transfer, and still have the scholarship, especially with good grades. In an hour, she finished and sent the transfer letter.

After that day, she attended classes as normal, and received the reply two days later. They accepted her transfer, and that's when everything started. She used her savings to get her plane ticket, and was quickly, but very quietly, sending her things to the dormitory. In a month she was done, and ready to leave. The night she left, she worked hard to leave Yunu a note, writing it in Japanese so her family couldn't read. And she snuck out, took a taxi, and soon started a new life, wanting to get out of the place filled with bad memories.

Yunu looked at her shocked. She was so close yet so far. He could have found her all these years when he went to Japan each time. Hyejin continued telling him what she had been doing after that.

"After I graduated, I found a job at the company I'm working at now, but in the Dubai branch. I was upset because I thought I could come back since the company is mainly from here, but decided it was best I stayed gone from your lives. Then a project came up, and, because I'm registered as Korean, they sent me here for it three months ago. I stayed lowkey, but saw the news of dad's death on TV, and figured I should at least attend his funeral. I used it as an excuse to see you guys, but you caught me."

Yunu laid down, his head next to her tummy, with one hand still rubbing it. She took his other hand and held it tight in hers, and Yunu fell asleep like that, tired from the days of travelling. Hyejin got up slowly, and put his head down on the pillow, and left to clean up the table. She kept thinking about what Yunu had told her, and wondered the same thing.

What did you do while I was gone...

Her head was filled with thoughts as she tried to guess an answer. She thought of many possibilities...

Did he do nothing but study and work?

Did he suffer? Or did he forget me?

Did he actually date anyone?

Was it Sunhee? Were they together?

A tear left her eye as she washed the dishes. She couldn't help but feel sad while thinking about these. Arms suddenly snaked around her waist, and she felt being pulled back, hitting a body. She quickly tried to wipe her tears, but her hands were covered with soap.

"I know what you're thinking. Don't be sad. After you left, I was only with Heesun and Hansol. I didn't date anyone, or get close to any girls, because I couldn't forget you. You would always appear in my mind whenever someone else asked me out, so I never dated. Trust me. All I did was study, work and be with your family. You're everything to me, so being with them was the only happiness I could get, and finding you was my main aim."

More tears left Hyejin's eyes while he talked, and she washed her hands and turned around, hugging him. She sobbed into his shirt, while Yunu continuously brushed her hair with his fingers. He pulled her out and held her chin, pushing her head up for her to look at him. He pecked her lips and smiled.

"Stop being sad. If I did forget you, would I have come looking for you that day? Anyways, we have something more important to think about. When should we get married?" Hyejin looked at him and smiled slightly, putting her head on his chest and hugging him again.

They soon went to bed, and Yunu laid down first with his head on her tummy. Hyejin flinched at his sudden action, and laughed at him.

"You can't hear anything yet stupid. It's only been two months." Yunu smiled at her, and kissed her tummy before lying down next to her, caressing her face. They gazed at each other's eyes, and Hyejin slowly drifted to sleep, holding his hand. Realising she's asleep, Yunu chuckled and leaned over to kiss her forehead, then lying back.

"Thank you for this gift Hyejin... I love it, and I love you..."
