CHELSEA
Six thirty the last time I checked my phone. And again, was greeted with another fuss."Cheska! Where is your manner?!" I heard my father growled. Nasa Dining sila.
I shook my head when I saw Cheska walking out from the dining followed by dad.
Meet my sister, Cheska Portezo and my family.
"Leave me alone." Coldness laced my sister's voice.
"Why can't you listen to me? Stop right there, young lady!" Another growled out from my father.
Cheska stomp her foot and stop on her tracked. She gave me a side ward glance then back to our furious father.
"Ayoko. And that's final! Cheska crossed her arms in front of her chest.
Naaawa akong nakatingin kay Cheska. Because of me she can't have a normal life. A free life. Kaya lagi silang nag-aaway.
"Bata pa ang mga kapatid mo—" she cut dad's sentence.
"They are not my siblings." May diin sa bawat pinapakawalan niyang salita.
Claire and Drianna is our step mother's children. My father married her off after the two years of suffering from our mother's death.
Okey sa'kin. But Cheska still haven't moved on. Wala siya dito nang mamatay si mommy dahil sa aksidente; car accident to be exact. Nasa Canada siya n'on. Nag-aaral ng law.
"They are." Pagdidiin ni daddy, "Can't you understand? Mga bata pa sila."
"I'm only a year older than them. And why's the fuss to get me married? I don't want to! Can't I have at least choose my own partner in life?!" She was fuming with anger.
"I'm choosing you a brighter future! You must follow me."
"F*ck that bright future! I hate you!" Cheska stormed out from the lobby back to her room.
"Cheska! Come back here!
Just when she notice me and gave me a sheepish smile.
"And'yan ka na pala. Kumain ka na?" I nodded to his question.
"I'll talk to her, dad." I gave him an assuring smile.
She usually do that when we came home. In fact, she's not bad for a stepmom.
