A VIDEO CALL REQUEST appeared on the screen, the contact saying Peter Quill. A groaned escaped from Astrid's lips as she didn't want to deal with another one of Peter's saving the galaxy adventures. But since living with Peter since she was a young child, she knew the boy would not stop until he gets what he wants.
Pressing the screen to answer him, his face pops up on the screen, enlarging his face. "What now, Star-Lord?" She said, tucking in a piece of stray hair that fell in front of her face. "What's up Asteroid? Don't answer that. Look I need a favour." He started and Astrid instantly rolled her eyes at her given nickname. "No, you and your—so called—friends need a favour. But go ahead. I'm listening."
"Okay. Okay. I need you to come to the Sovereign, I'll meet you there. Kay, thanks!" With that, Astrid knew that she was getting into trouble, especially when it involves Peter. But again, what was new? She was a freaking mutant who was raised to be a thief by Yondu just like Peter was. Unlike Peter, she wasn't a freak with powers beyond her abilities. She thought staying with the Ravagers was better than Earth, where she was abandoned and was way different than the rest. But with the Ravagers, she felt sort of at home.
Getting ready to fly her ship to the Sovereign, she was still clueless as of why Peter would want her there for a favour. Of course, little did she know that Peter was trying to bring her into the gang and was need of her help. From where she was—middle of nowhere in space—it was twenty-five clicks till she would arrived at the gold covered planet. From what she's heard from previous missions, the High Priestress has a high reputation for being a self obsessed gold ingot of a leader.
It was now ten-clicks to the planet, hoping that Peter wasn't already there she went a little faster than she would normally would. Everything with Astrid and Peter was always a competition, Peter was Yondu's favourite and Astrid was just tossed aside like leftovers until she was needed. She didn't despised Peter, but sometimes he could be a load of work to deal with. But despite all the times they've fought each other, he was still family and she never leaves family behind.
Ten-clicks later and after landing her ship in the docking station, there it was, Peter's ship or what he would call it—The Milano. She found it childish that he named his own ship, but who was she to judge. She had named her own by the nickname Peter would call her. The Asteroid. The two were so alike that some of Yondu's teammates would refer to Astrid as Peter No. 2
It didn't make Astrid feel any better about that, but she did agree with the fact she was close to Peter.
"There's the Asteroid," Peter exclaimed, waving outside from her ship. Astrid stuck her tongue and let out a smile at her brother, she didn't hate that term but didn't like it as well. In actuality they were pretty much siblings. She was raised at the age of four with Peter being twelve years older than her, she looked up at him like an older brother she never had.
Astrid zipped her jacket up and tightened the brown laces on her boots and opened the back of the ship. As the back opened, she could see Peter, a green skinned girl who everyone knew as Gamora, a walking raccoon with a gun in his hand—paws, and a really muscular man with a small tree like creature on his shoulder. To her she knew Peter's friends as the Guardians of the Galaxy, but she never really knew their actual names.
"Okay, what's the favour you needed?" Astrid asked, getting straight to the point as she stepped down from the ship. "We need your electric magic to stop an inter dimension beast from feeding on those batteries." Peter explained pointing the glowing column, "The Anulax Batteries?" she raised a brow. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever sure. You gunna help?"
"Coolio. I'm in."
"Alright! This is Rocket," He pointed at the raccoon, "Drax," now at very muscular man, "Groot," was the one on his shoulder who cutely waved at me with his adorable hands, "and Gamora." Lastly pointed at the greened skinned woman. "Sup." Astrid simply said, waving her hands. Little did she know that Peter had mentioned her to the gang a couple of times, back at Xander. After defeating Ronan, Astrid went back Yondu's side when his team went to retrieve the power stone that almost killed Peter and his friends. But only to separate from them once again, leaving herself alone not seeing Peter but both still got in touch as often as they could.
