ASTRID KEPT HER head down as she stood beside Peter at the head of the table Yondu laid on. He was covered in many colourful ribbons that all meant something but Astrid didn't care about that right now, all she did care about was for her dad to have a peaceful funeral. Dad, she thought. That's what he is to her, out of all the things that happened to her he was still the person who raised her, fed her, cared for her when she was sick.

She may have been excluded but Yondu tried to do what was best for her and that's what he did. He wasn't exactly the best dad but he did try his best with Peter and her.

As Yondu lays there surrounded by his toys, beautiful varieties of flowers, and some of his own belongings. Astrid lights up the candles that surround him with her electricity. Standing in silence, Astrid looks down on Yondu with tears pooling in her eyes.

"The other day I told Gamora how I used to pretend my dad was David Hasselhoff." Peter broke the silence but Drax and Rocket look at each other with confusion. Astrid weakly smiled at the two, "He's a singer and an actor from Earth. Really famous guy." She explained, the two nod at the information.

"And, you know today, it struck me. Yondu didn't have a talking car, but he did have a flying arrow. And he didn't have the voice of an angel, but he did have the whistle of one. And both David Hasselhoff and Yondu went on kickass adventures, and hooked up with hot women, and fought robots." He explained which made Astrid chuckle at the references.

"So, the thing is, David Hasselhoff kind of did end up being our Dad after all. Only he was Yondu. We had a pretty cool dad." Astrid intertwines her hands with Peter's in hope of soothing him down as he sounds like he's about to break down. He sniffles before speaking up again. "And what I'm trying to say here is, that thing that you're been searching for your whole life, sometimes it's right there by your side all along and you don't even know it."

Groot looks up at Rocket who's sad and upset. I am Groot? He says, Rocket looks up at Groot. "Yeah. That's the friend I was talking about." I am Groot. "He did call you twig." He shrugs his shoulders. I am Groot. "I should it give it to Peter or Astrid. I know." Rocket says referring to the picture of young Astrid and Peter that Yondu kept.

Astrid joins the rest of the Guardians in the crematorium room where Yondu was left. Kraglin joined them but stayed a far distance away from them. They moved Yondu's body on to a plank, his body resting near the exit. They slowly slid him into the slot, letting him go out in space.

Astrid rests her head down along with everyone in sadness and respect. His body floats in space as he moves farther away. Peter closed the door of the crematorium and moved away from the door, Kraglin approaches Peter and Astrid with something in his hands.

"Pete. Astrid." He says, his voice much softer than usual.

He shows them what's in his hand. "Cap'n found this for you in a junket shop. Said someday you'd come back for to the fold." He hands Peter an MP3 player and Astrid chuckles at the thought of more music but she wasn't complaining. "It's called a Zune, it's what everyone listens to on Earth nowadays. It's got three hundred songs on it." Astrid smiles at Kraglin and nods at him as a thank you.

"He also found this, reminded him of you." He hands her a necklace with a metal moon pendant hanging from the necklace. "It's pretty." He commented which sent a smile to Astrid. "It is. Thank you." She whispered.

Before Kraglin walks away, Peter stops him. "Wait."

Peter takes out something, in his hand was Yondu's arrow which Astrid thought was lost and destroyed in the battle. She sharply breathes out as she see the arrow in all its glory. "Rocket grabbed the pieces and reassembled then all together. I think Yondu would want you to have it." He hands him the arrow and Kraglin just looks up at Peter.

"Thank you...Cap'n"

Astrid joins Drax, Mantis, and Rocket to watch Yondu's ashes. She stands beside the raccoon in silence, fighting the urge to cry, knowing very well Yondu raised her to be strong. "Hey...Astrid." Rocket says grabbing Astrid's attention away from the window.

She hummed letting him know that she's listening. "This was in Yondu's jacket. He kept it back when we were locked up. But Groot found it in his drawer." She turns around to see what he was talking about. In Rocket's paws was a small film, she took it from him and flipped the film and saw herself and Peter.

"Rocket...Thank you." She smiled at him, he rubbed the back of his neck and looked down. She gave him a pat on his shoulder before he walks away.

She looks at the picture again and just plainly smiles in pure happiness. The fact that Yondu kept this photo made her heart warm, he wasn't just a Ravager Captain, he was also a parent, a father to two. Who despite his mistakes loved him very much, because they knew that he tried his best, also trying to find his way through the journey.

She remembered the picture, she asked Peter to take a photo and he asked Yondu in which he gladly accepted. Yondu had found an old non-used film camera in a junkyard and he thought since Peter had a love for old stuff he would take it home.

Astrid loved the thought of capturing moments and she loved Peter's camera. So she wanted to capture a moment herself. She just wished she captured a moment with Yondu.
