THE SOUND OF someone pounding on her doors woke Astrid up from her rest. Her eyes instantly opened and instincts took over. She gets up from her bed and with one hand filled with a ball of black electricity, she makes her way with caution to the door.

The pounding continues until she opens the door revealing a distressed Mantis, Astrid lowered her guard down but not fully. "You have to come with me!" She didn't hesitate to drag Astrid with her to Drax's quarters. "What are you doing?" Astrid exclaimed with confusion in her tone.

"I'll explain with Drax." His door was wide open and so the two entered, only to see a sleeping Drax on his bed. Mantis was quick to try and wake up Drax, she let go of Astrid's small and skinny wrist and rushed over to Drax. She shook his shoulders in hopes to wake him up, "Drax! Drax!" Mantis exclaimed.

Drax wakes up with full on Destroyer mode, ready to fight any intruders. "We need to talk! All of us!" He looks around and sees Astrid standing a few feet away from his bed, just confused as he is and calms down.

"I am sorry but I like a woman with meat on her bones." Drax turned to Mantis making a chuckle escape from Astrid, "What?" Mantis said stoping what she was doing. "I tried letting you down easily by telling you I found you disgusting."

"No! That's not what I was—" Mantis tried to tell Drax but he was too busy gagging, "What are you doing?" Astrid asked in confusion. "I am imagining being physically with her." He pointed at the empath.

"Drax, that's not what I was trying to say. I don't like you like that. I don't even like the type of thing you are." She explained, Drax has felt offended and scoffed. "Hey! There's not need to get personal." He huffed.

"Listen! Ego's gotten what he want he wanted. I should have told you two earlier, I am stupid. You are in danger." She said turning to Astrid and then to Drax. "He wants Peter's celestial powers to conquer thousands of planets he has planted himself on. Peter isn't the only child of his, Ego has created more and killed them as soon as he figured they didn't carry any celestial blood."

Astrid crossed her arms and took in a deep breath, "Mother of God." she fiddled around with her pinky trying to understand if what she just learned, then the thought of Peter's whereabouts dawned on her. "Where's Peter?" She asked, the two stayed quiet also unknown of Peter's location.

Astrid didn't hesitate to run out the room and into Peter's room, today wasn't her luck. Unfortunately for her, she didn't find any sign of her brother in his room. She rushed back to Drax's quarters and the two looked at her with the question of wheres Peter? She just shook her head and walked towards the two.

Then all of a sudden the door slammed opened and an angry Gamora along with her sister Nebula walks in. Astrid's instincts went all the way up due to the sudden noise, her hands occupied with balls of electricity. But as soon as she saw Gamora, the balls of electricity settled down but didn't fully go away.

Although Gamora did not seem very happy by the way she approached Mantis. She wrapped her hands around her neck which startled Astrid and Drax. "Hey!" Drax exclaimed reflecting the same emotion Astrid was feeling. "What is she doing?!" Astrid asked turning to Nebula. "Just watching the fireworks."

"Gamora let her go!" But Gamora tuned him out, "The bodies in the caverns! Who are they?!" Gamora asked. As if the information about Ego killing his own children was enough, she had to learn that he kept their bodies in a cavern, in his own planet.

"You are scared." Mantis struggled to say, with a touch of her hand she leaves Gamora terrified as Mantis felt her emotions. "What did she do to me!" She yelled as she backs away from the empath. "She already told us everything." Drax said.

"The bodies are his children." Astrid said with that Gamora gave a horrified look, a look Astrid once gave as she learned the truth as well.

"Astrid, Peter never stopped bickering about her. He told stupid stories on and on to the team. What did you know about the girl?" Rocket asks which surprises Yondu since just a few moments ago, the raccoon was such a douchebag.

Kraglin hears the mention of Astrid's name and speaks up. "She was another Earther who joined the Ravagers. Quill and Parkins got very close and became siblings almost. She had powers, very powerful ones. She was too dangerous, we separated her from Quill and the rest of the group as much as possible for their safety."

Yondu stayed quite before Rocket spoke up, "Well by the way you talked about him, this Ego is bad news. We have to save Peter...and Astrid."

"For what? For honour? For love?"

"No! I don't care about those things! I want to save Quill. So I can prove I'm better than him! I can lord on how I save him and his little sister forever!" Raccoon tried to reason out but Yondu saw through him. He knew that Rocket wasn't the tough guy he seemed to be, he knew that actually cared for Peter but denies it and so that's why he pushes him or anyone who cares for him away. He's just so afraid of being cared and loved for because he never experienced it before.

"You can fool yourself and everyone else but you can't fool me. I know who you are." Yondu laughs bitterly. "You don't know anything about me, loser." He lies. "I know everything about you. You act like your the meanest and hardest cause your the most scared out of all."

"Shut up."

"I know you steal batteries you don't need and you push away anyone who's willing to put up with you, 'cause just a little bit of love reminds you how big and empty that hole inside you actually is! You asked about Astrid 'cause you care about her just like the way she cares for you and your friends. You want to accept her but you just keep pushing people away."

"I said, shut up."

"I know the scientist what made you never gave a rat's ass about—"

"I'm serious! Dude!"

"Just like my own damn parents who sold me, their own little baby, into slavery! I know who you are, boy, because you're me."

There's complete silence between the two. Rocket thinks for a moment that maybe he should really stop pretending and just start accepting the love and acceptance his friends are giving. "What kind of pair are we?"

"The kind thats about to go fight a planet I reckon."

"All right, okay. Wait— Fight a what?"
