FALLING IS ALL they're doing for the past minute and a half, and finally Astrid has gotten in her feet. Still they were still going through the many layers of Ego's planet to get to his core.

"So tell me. Why'd Ego want you here?" Yondu asks. Peter continues to maneuver the ship, "He needs my genetic connection to the light to help destroy the universe. He tried to teach me how to control the power."

"So could you?" Astrid asks Peter, who now has powers much greater than hers.

Peter just shrugs, "A little. I made a ball." That made Astrid snort, out of all the things he could've made he made a damn ball. She could made a wave of electricity happen when she was just 10 years old. And here's Peter, nearly in his 40s with celestial powers and all he made was a ball. "Hey!" Peter frowns.

"A ball?" Yondu asks thinking the same thing as Astrid. "I thought as hard as I could, that's all I could come up with." He says to Yondu. "You though?" Peter just simply nods. "You think when I make this arrow fly, I use my head?"

Astrid rolls her eyes, "Well, what do you use?" she says with such enthusiasm while turning to look at the blue man. There was a slight pause before the side of the ship collided with the wall ripping it directly off. Astrid stumbles back but stands firm making sure she won't fall again.

Although it was for only a moment, the ship had arrived into what seemed Ego's core. The ship floated in the vast space, Astrid look out from the windshield and was mesmerized. She let out a woah.

"There! That's Ego's core." Mantis yelled and Astrid assumed that the big gigantic sphere connected to other appendage was his core. "That ores too thick, Rocket. We're going to need use the big laser." Gamora said.

Now Astrid knew she could help, she knew her powers were just as powerful as them lasers. They are able to destroy anything in their path, only downside is that she wouldn't be able to control it. So if it was to go crazy she couldn't do anything about it. "Peter, let me go out. With the laser and my powers it could speed up the process."

Peter knew not to let her get hurt and so he shook his head. "No. It's too dangerous outside, the laser will just do the job." He said, "It's not that—"

"No. I don't want my sister getting hurt again." He insisted before manning the ship towards the ore. Where Rocket got the big guns out and got things ready. Astrid frowned in disappointment that she could've been out there helping to destroy Ego.

"I see you were with Peter all along. What happened?" Yondu asks Astrid. She just scoffs at him thinking the little act that he was playing wasn't working. "What happened? You continued to shut me out even after I came back. You ignored me Yondu. I left because I didn't want to endure that anymore." She said setting an awkward vibe.

Even Peter stay quiet. "I did it to protect you from yourself sweetheart. You almost killed some of me mates. Peter here too." Astrid frowned at the last part of his sentence, she would have remembered that now would she but how come she didn't?

"What?" She said in shock. She would never hurt Peter, well at-least not intentionally.

"We must hurry. It will not take long for Ego to find us." Mantis exclaimed. "Keep it still." Rocket ordered Peter in which he followed. The laser was now ready to fire and so Rocket fires it. Although the power of the laser was very powerful to the point it rocked the ship making it hard for Peter to keep stable.

"We drill into the centre, we kill him." He says as he continues to have a tight grip on the wheel. There was a red lighting blinking that caught Yondu's attention. "What is it Kraglin?"

"Uh, remember that Ayesha chick?" He said through the speaker. "Yeah why?" Yondu says, but just as Astrid was looking out the windshield, she catches a glimpse of Ayesha's whole fleet of ship. "Aw hell." She cursed grabbing the attention of Yondu and Peter's attention.

The ships head towards the Guardians stopping them from destroying Ego's core. They shoot at the ship losing power to the drill, Peter maneuvers the ship to the right making a sharp turn that forces Astrid to go tumbling down the stairs and into the lower deck of the ship. "Ingrid!" Peter calls out. There she was met with the rest of the crew, there was a huge hole to the side that causes the Guardians and Astrid herself to fall out into the vast space.

They go falling a high height but manages to land perfectly into the ground below. Following Astrid was Drax, Gamora, and Mantis. She looks up and sees the laser drill trying to fly away from the Sovereign ships.

Mantis looks at Astrid with so much fear in her eyes. "What?" She asks, Mantis just looks away from her and towards a cavern. "He's coming."
Drax looked at Astrid and then to Mantis, "Didn't you say you could make him sleep?" He asked. "When he wants to. He's too powerful, I can't!"

"You don't have to believe in yourself because I," He looked at Astrid. "We believe in you." Mantis turns to Astrid who gives her a supportive smile, she inhales deeply and before Mantis does her thing they hear the loud screams of Ego as he gets closer.

Mantis bends down and dips her hand into a small crack on the ground. She looks up in front of her afraid but she knew she had to be strung and so set her fears aside."Sleep!" She yells and as she does that the light that Ego was emitting stoped due to Mantis.

Astrid lets out a deep sigh but still feels scared. Drax shares a look with her, "I never thought she'd be able to do it. With as skinny and weak as she appears." Astrid lets out a small chuckle at the comment and returns her attention to Mantis. "I don't know how I can hold this."

"You need to Mantis! If you don't we're all going to die." Astrid said not making Mantis feel better. But then again, she was never good at stuff like that.
