ASTRID HOLDS THE photo dearly to her heart. She stands besides Drax who has Groot on his shoulders as they watch Yondu's ashes out in space. They watch with sadness and Astrid lets it a small sigh that came with tears as well. Drax sees her sadness and puts a hand on her shoulder as a sign of comfort.
But as she continued to watch her dad float away as ashes, she noticed he wasn't alone. Dozens of colourful ships show up one by one as they all gather up. "What is it?" Drax asks as they walk closer to the window. "I sent word to Yondu's old Ravager buddies, and told them what he did." Rocket explains.
More ships gather and next thing they knew, more than a dozen arrived, all facing towards the direction of the ship. "It's a Ravager funeral." Astrid says, she knows a Ravager funeral when she sees one. One of their old buddies died and they held a funeral for him, the way Ravagers gave each other a funeral was probably one of the most beautiful things she's seen.
Peter and Gamora soon enter the control room. She smiles as she turns around and sees her brother and his loved one. Everyone else joins together at the window, watching close at the Ravagers.
As they watch, the ships then let out colourful bursts of fireworks. Green, red, yellow, orange, all of the colours of the rainbow was there. "They came." Astrid breathes out in awe. Her heart just melted at the sight she was seeing, all of this was just for her father.
"He didn't chase them away." Rocket says.
"No." Peter says.
"Even though he yelled at 'em." Peter and Astrid shakes their head in unison.
"And was always mean." Once again, they shake their heads.
"And he stole batteries he didn't need." Astrid turns to Rocket referring to himself. "Of course not." Peter says.
They then stare back into the beauty of the colours and fireworks, taking in every beautiful second. She sees Groot on Drax's shoulders and Mantis on the other side of him. She gives the empath a small but warming welcome. She sees Groot yawn in exhaustion and she softly giggles, "Me too, bud. Me too." She says as she pats his little tree head.
"It's beautiful." Mantis smiles.
Astrid playfully shakes her head and smiles to herself as well. Drax turns to Mantis to say something.
"It is." There's a pause before he adds something. "And so are you." As Astrid thought he was done he added something something else. "On the inside." Which made Astrid nudge him.
Turning back to the window they watch the colourful dust of their old friend turn into something more meaningful. An arrow. Representing Yondu himself. Astrid sees this and is left jaw open with tears already pooling in her eyes, this time she doesn't bother holding them back. They let go and she's now crying.
But a comforting hand is placed on her back, she turns and sees it was Gamora who was being held by her brother. She smiles and wipes the tears off her face.
She looks around the room and sees, not the Guardians of the Galaxy standing beside her, but instead she sees family.
Not just any family. But her family.

AUTHOR'S NOTE
(INFINITY WAR SPOILER)
That's it guys. This last chapter is short but it was so hard for me to write. As much as I love the Avengers, I love these idiots as much. They treat each other like family despite the fact the things they did. It breaks my heart to see the gone and only Rocket to be alone once again. It hurts that Gamora and Peter could never have their happy ending. Nobody did. Rocket never had the chance to raise Groot. I just hope they all really do come back.
