Aiden
As we run downstairs all I can think about what awaits us. About thousands of different theories run through my head. What if it's just a glass. What if it really is something dangerous. A wolf, a robber, or maybe even a murderer. Stop thinking like that I comand myself. Molly needs them. It's the closest thing she has to her parents.
We turn the corner and look around the kitchen. Everything seems to be how it was left. Unharmed and not broken. The silence fools us. We here a crash down the hall and Molly takes off running towards it. I can see it in her eyes that she can't afford to lose them. They're all she has left. I hear her scream. Knowing I have no other choice I run after her.
I run down the hallway towards what I persume is her grandparents room. I spot Molly instantly. I breathe a sigh of relief that she is ok, but then I see it. She is standing there frozen in fear at the thing that made all the noise. Standing in front of us is to terrifying to describe, but I'll try it anyway.
Standing in front of her about ten feet tall is a monster. Not just any monster. It's a monster that the soul catchers send out as their pets to catch stranded souls. Whatever damage was done and what happened to her and her family is all my fault. He was sent to get me. But I bet he wants some humans to eat while he's at it.
He's ugly and green. He looks like a giant dog, that is if dogs were ten feet tall and not even on his hein legs yet. There was green sticky slime ozzing from his skin that was giving off a terrible smell that I could smell even though I'm dead.
His face was huge probably about four times the size of Molly's. The monster could lash out and fit her whole head in his mouth in one bite. The thought of that makes me shudder. I see his sharp yellow teeth about a foot long. I see his big all black beady eyes fall upon me. Then I realise the only thing standing between us is Molly. And he is sure to get me and deystroy anything in his way.
I run forward and tackle Molly to the ground right as the beast lunges for her. I knock her out of the way landing on top of her with a puzzled looking beast behind us. It doesn't take long for it to recover and spot us. I pull Molly to her feet and we race towards the kitchen as the beast comes after us smashing the doorway.
In the the kitchen I suggest the lame idea of throwing glass cups and plates at it which just bounced off like there was some force field. Which in the end just made it more angry.
"Lets split up." I say. She nods in agreement not willing to speak.
I run left wondering what one of us it will follow, but I already now it's after me. I turn right into a room. Dead end. I turn to leave but I here a noise coming towards the door. I quickly hide in the closet leaving just a crack to see out of.
I wait there in silence trying to catch my breath when I remember I can't lose it. The monster walks into the room. I see him look around and sniff the air after awhile he turns around and leaves. I slowly walk out of the closet. I look around and don't see it anywhere so I head for the door. I'm a few feet from the door when the beast appears and jumps on me.
I struggle under its weight, but I can't get away. It's pinned me down. I look for any kind of help seeing if Molly is near. I spot her in the doorway and I yell her name. She looks at me like she doesn't know what to do. Then to my surprise she runs away!
I can't believe she would do that! She left me to go away! She doesn't want me here. I stop struggling and brace myself for the end. I look the beast in the face showing it I'm not afraid, but I don't think it works.
The monster opens its mouth and I can feel it trying to suck me in. At first I fight even though I've got nothing left to fight for. Molly has left me. Running that line through my head I realise she's the only reason I'm here. So I let go and let the monster take me. To where I should really be.
The pain comes crashing in. The first pain I've felt sense I've died. I can feel the monster is about to take me. But it never gets the chance. Molly comes running through the door. At first I'm so happy to see her that I don't even see the sword in her hand. I want to ask her about it, but I'm in too much pain.
"Hey you!" She shouts. "Over here!" The monster loses its interest in me and turns around to look at who was calling it.
It turns around and stares. But he decides he wants me more and turns its back to her. I can't help but picture what it will do to her once it's done with me. I close my eyes and wait to get sucked up. Nothing happens so I slowly open my eyes. The sight that awaits me is unbelievable.
Molly is up near the beast and has stabbed it with the sword. It didn't look like a place that would kill him. The wound doesn't even look that deep. But to my surprise the pain stopped and the monster got off me. He looked confused like he couldn't process what was going on.
It started shinning into colorful lights. Swirling around becoming brighter and brighter until we are forced to look away. The light explodes and we look back. The only thing left that even showed it existed is a big pool of green slime.
I look at Molly. "What now?" Then the doorbell rings.
"I guess we'll find out." She says and we walk downstairs.
