Stranded Souls

Chapter 13

                                                                                    Aiden

    We walked over to go help out Cecilia. Molly shook her a little bit saying her name. She didn't wake up so she gave up and we lift her back to the car. "Haley and Tyrone should be coming back soon." Molly says as we lay her up against the truck.

    "Will you be fine until then?" I ask not willing to leave that easy.

    "Ya, but I don't think I can do this anymore." She says sighing.

    "Do what?" I ask confused.

    "Keep you a secret. I can't keep us a secret anymore. I have to tell my friends." She says letting it all out.

    "I don't know if we can trust all of them!" I say. I can't stop my voice from raising.

    "Well I do!" She says raising hers too. "I trust Haley and Cecilia risked her life for me. And if Haley trust Tyrone then I can too. So can you!!!"

    I don't know what to think. I'd rather not, but Molly seems so determined to. And when she's determined she will get her way. So I save a long fight and argument that I'm destined to lose and say ok.

    Haley and Tyrone finally come and they look shocked to see me. At first they don't say anything just stare. Haley finds her voice first. "Who's this?"

    Molly wanted to tell her so bad. She's been going on and on about hating how she has to lie. How she wishes she could just tell about me. And now that she can she freezes up and can't do it. So I step in.

    "I'm Aiden. Molly is my friend." I say, but in my head I'm thinking girlfriend. Haley starts staring at Molly. 

    "Is that true?" She says like she can't believe Molly would break the rules and become friends with a soul. Molly just nods.

    "Are you dead?" Tyrone ask finding his voice too.

    "Ya. I died in a car crash about six months ago. The same one Molly survived." I say pointing to her.

    "Why did you stay?" Haley asks.

    "I don't know." But I know I do. "Because when I saw her right before the crash. I just knew there was something about her like I needed to know her."

    "I just don't get why you look like you do?" Tyrone asks looking me over.

    "Because my parents?" I asked wondering why he asked that.

    "No." Haley says. "He means why you look like you were when you were alive. Most stranded souls change how they look. To look scary and big."

    "You're the first soul I've ever seen that looks human." Adds Tyrone.

    I don't know if that's a compliment or insult. "Thanks?" I say anyway.

    "Why do you think that is?" Haley ask Tyrone

    "I don't know." He says thinking. "Maybe because he's the only soul that's ever come back not to haunt or creat terror. He came back to find the one he loves."

    "That explains why he wouldn't turn scary and stuff." Haley says and they look at me. And I feel like I'm being judged on how I dressed and stuff without given anytime to prepare.

    "What should we do?" Tyrone asked. "We have to turn in him. It's the law."

    Molly and I shout no at the exact sametime. We look at each other and I see Molly has this so I let her.

    "You can't! Please! We love each other. You can't take him away from me. I just can't lose him. I wouldn't be able to stay here. And you guys right here are the only thing I have left." She says about to start crying.

    Haley and Tyrone look at each other and I can tell they really don't want to tell. They know it's the law and they know they're suppose to follow it. I see it in their eyes. They love each other and they know they wouldn't be able to live without each other. I know they're going to let me stay.

    "Ok" Haley says smiling. "What they don't know won't kill them."

Create    "And I need another boy on this team. I'm out numbered by girls." Tyrone adds smiling too.

    Molly screams yes and grabs me into a giant bear hug. "Thank you so much!!!" She says. I would say something, but she's holding me so tight I can't breathe.

    "Don't sufficate him." Haley says laughing.

    "I couldn't if I tried." She says letting me go. "And sometimes I've wanted to." She adds smiling at me.  

    I smile back.
