                                                                                   Molly

At the door I tell Aiden to hide while I answer it. I know he wants to be up by me. I can tell he's concerned. I feel like I should have gone into shock. My grandparents were eaten by a giant beast. Also I'm confused on how I knew to get that sword.

A long time ago my grandma had showed me that box. She had said that it was for emergencies only. I had forgotten all about that box until today. I had wanted to know what was inside it so badly. Now I do and I don't think I want to anymore.

Once I make sure Aiden is in his hiding spot I walk to the door. I can't say I wasn't hoping that somehow, someway that those were my grandparents. That maybe they escaped and were waiting for me. I was more then disappointed when I opened the door.

A girl with straight golden blonde hair was standing there. She looked thirteen, but I knew she was my age. She had her own sword in her hand. She wasn't very tall. She had menacing hazel eyes.

"I'm Haley." She says stepping past me. All I hope is that Aiden is hidden well and stays there.

"May I help you?" I say closing the door.

"This may sound crazy, but have you seen any glowbane?" She ask looking around.

"A what?" I say confused hoping she would just leave.

"I'm sorry. I big green beast. Slimey and like seven feet tall." Haley said like it was the most common thing in the world. I just stare at her. "Sorry, but you are a soul catcher aren't you?" She holds up her sword."What is this?"

"It's a sword." I reply barely keeping the sarcasim out of my voice. What else could it be.

"That's good. You are one. So have you seen one?" She says growing a bit impatient.

"Maybe." I say cautiously. "Why should I trust you?"

"Because. I'm here to help. I've been a soul catcher sense I was five. The tracker said there was a glowbane heading this way."

"Well there was, but your too late! It already came!" I say letting all my anger rush out. "So you can just leave."

I regretted it as soon as I said it. She looked hurt. "No I didn't mean that. I'm sorry. It's just that it ate my grandparents."

"I'm sorry." She says and the hurt disappears a little. "Can I see the slime?"

"Um... Ya. It's down the hall." I start to direct her down the hall and turn into the room. I point to it.

"That's a lot of slime. This had to be about ten feet tall." I nod and she countinues. "Well these are illegal." She looks at me and sees my confused face. "I'm part of the S.S.I. The Stranded Soul Instatuate. We go out and hunt the souls that refuse to move on."

"But there is another place S.S.B. which stands for Stranded Soul Banishment. They creat illegal monster to capture souls. They don't send them to the light. They keep them locked up forever for refusing to leave the first time." She says shuddering at the thought. "So shall we go?"

"What?" I asked feeling more confused then before.

"To the S.S.I. That's were they will train you to become a soul hunter." She says walking out of the room and heading for the door.

"Wait! What!?" I say running after her. "What if I don't want to?" She stops dead in her tracks.

"Don't want to!" It looks like she has been slapped. "Why wouldn't you!?"

"I uh. I don't know." All I could think about was Aiden, but I can't tell her about him.

"Well, what us would you do?" She says and I know she means with no family left.

I think about it. Aiden isn't really a stranded soul, is he? He would of said something to me about it. I sigh. "Ok. I'll do it." Her face lights up. "Under one condition." I add quickly.

"And that is...?" Haley asks growing eager.

"If you go outside and give me some time to, um, say goodbye." I say embarassed. She nods and goes outside. I find Aiden so I can explain to him what I'm doing, but I don't have to.

"So are we going?" He ask. I'm so surprised I can't even hid it.

    "You were eavesdropping!" I say.

"No. I'm just psychic." He says smiling and a playfully punch him in the arm.

"I hate you." I say, but can't help but smile.
