Stranded Souls

Chapter 10

                                                                                    Molly

    I was walking down the hallway to go to the bathroom when someone running at full speed runs into me and I fall to the ground. They get up before me and say they're sorry and offer me their hand. I look up and see it's Aiden so I take it and he pulls me up.

    "Why are you running so fast?" I ask sore from impact. "You could kill someone."

    "Sorry I was looking for you." He replied not even hurt.

    "Well you found me. What is it?" I say being stubborn.

    "I was looking around and I found this door." He says and I nod showing him that I follow. "It was locked so I went through it." Aiden doesn't say his next sentence because I cut him off.

    "Why would you do that!!!" I try hard not to scream. "Someone could of seen you!"

    "Relax it was dark in there. No one saw me." He says and continues. "Well anyway, in there was a boy who sounded about our age." Aiden glances around acting like were being watched. "I couldn't see him, but he was talking to someone on the phone."

    I don't have time for this. Someone will be looking for me soon. "That's not illegal." I say and turn around to walk back the way I came, but Aiden grabs my arm.

    "I'm serious!" He says and I look him in the eye and see he means it.

    "Ok what did he say?" I ask.

    "The person on the phone said do you have her and he replied yes. I wondered if i was you, but I wasn't sure." He pauses. "Then he asked if he followed her. And I'm positive he meant me. And then..." He looked to shock up to continue. Like he was in a trance replaying it.

    "What is it?" I say bringing him back to reality.

    "He said all they have to do now is wait for her to bring him to them." He says his face full of fear.

    "I don't think they meant us" I say, but I can't get myself to believe it. "Well I think I should be going. They're probably looking for me." I say and I start walking back.

    "What should I do?" He asks and I can tell he wants to get out of this building.

    "Ok." I say turning back around. "Here's the plan. I'm going back there to finish my training. Then they will assign me a team to hunt with. Then we can leave. Ok?"

    "What am I suppose to do? You'll have people on the team who I can't let see me.!" He says getting frustrated.

    I can hear Haley coming down the hall calling my name. "We'll figure something out later. Haley is coming. I have to go. Be careful." I say as I start to walk away put he grabs my arm again.

    "They metioned Haley's name on the phone." He says.

    "You heard Haley at the house. I can trust her." I say knowing he's just being paranoid.

    "Ok just be careful though." Aiden says as Haley's voice comes closer. "Just in case." He says then walks off leaving me there staring at where he was.

    "Are you ok?" Haley asks now next to me trying to see what I'm staring at.

    "Ya." I reply and we walk back. But I still can't stop thinking about what Aiden said about Haley and the phone call. A shiver runs through me.
