"where is he?," i asked daniel as i arrived at the why don't we house.

"he's in his room, corbyn and jack are with him. please talk to him and tell him to calm down," he begged.

i nodded as i walked up the stairs to zachs room. i could already hear him cryig and sobbing before i even entered the room.

i walked into his room and immediately stopped as i saw him laying on his bed with his head resting on corbyns lap.

"come here," corbyn said and stood up from the bed. i sat down next to zach and tried not to start crying.

"zach," i whispered and that was the moment he noticed me. his eyes are swollen and red and it breaks my heart that i'm the reason why his eyes aren't shining like they usually do. his eyes are broken and so is he. and so am i.

"isa," he stuttered. his cheeks are just as red as his eyes and his bedsheets are already wet as hell.

"zach, stop crying," i begged.

"i can't, it hurts to much," he said as his voice cracked. he reached for my hands and intertwined our fingers.

this familiar gesture made my heart beat faster.

"you shouldn't be crying," i told him.

"i've never cried because of a girl or even infront of one," he slightly laughed.

"i always thought i didn't need a girl to be alright but waking up knowing that you're not mine anymore breaks my heart a little bit more everyday," he spoke the words that i didn't want to hear. i didn't want to hear how broken he is. cause i am too. and i don't know how to deal with two broken hearts.

"zach, it's better the way it is. fate doesn't want us to be together."

"but i want us!" he almost shouted. "you can't just throw us away cause fate doesn't want us to be. you can't just break my heart like this and tell me something about fate! you can't just make me love you and break up with me in the next moment! i'd rather fight with you and go through all the pain in the world than being without you. don't you understand how bad i need you in my life? i love you so freaking much. look me in the eyes and tell me that it's over. i bet you can't do it."

the room was filled with silence after zach has closed his mouth. i knew exactly that i couldn't do it. so i just ran away, left him without an answer to an unspoken question.
