"I hereby call this meeting of the Vampire Coven Council to order."

Everyone took their seat around the table, giving a nod of hello to each other.

The council consists of six members; Gideon; the leader of the coven, Christian and Alexander; his personal defence, Matthew; the second in command, Steven; the coven representative, and me; the only female human to ever step foot in the coven.

"Let's begin."
Gideon continued
"Humans. Can we trust them?"

If on cue, every turns to me, but I refuse to give in the their hateful views of human stigmatize.

They're trying to get a reaction out of me, to see if I'll snap and prove them right; that no human can be trusted, that we're the enemy.

"Yes, we can." I finally speak.

Gideon smiles at me, giving his non verbal praise. Everybody else shakes their heads and turn back to their leader.

"Would you care to elaborate Katie?" He asks still grinning.

Before I can open my mouth, Matthew stands up silencing me

"I believe miss Katie's vote should be considered biased, taking into account that she is still one of them."

The rest of the council nods in agreement. Content with his peers reaction, Matthew takes his seat.

The smile on Gideon's face vanishes

"I also believe them to be trusted, not all humans are evil, not all vampires are good, we all have our faults. If I did not feel this way I would not have appointed Katie to the council, I trust her unconditionally."

Instead of immediate agreement, all hell breaks loose:

Steven: "Why should we trust her if she refuses to become one of us?"

Matthew: "She knows that if she decides to become one of us there's no going back."

Steven: "Precisely, she is too indecisive to be trusted."

Matthew: "Agreed."

I couldn't take it anymore.

"What if I changed?"

Immediately everyone silences

"If I changed would you trust me?"

The all looked at each other and nodded in agreement

"Yes." They all reply.
