There Are No Coincidences In Life

"How did I never know the Mayor has a son?" I ask to nobody impartial.

That's Who Simons father was, the one and only Mayor.

"With the appending invasion I was hidden, I'm too easy of a bargaining chip." He begins looking at the other vampires

"Where were you for the other twenty-three years? We only just arrived three years ago." Christian asks.

Simon strongly tries to avoid eye contact with me, what is he hiding?

"Simon?" I ask.

"We knew." He pauses
"We knew the vampires were coming 23 years before they arrived."

"How is that possible?" Steven asks.

"I have no idea. But my father knew, so before I was born he hid my mother and I." He responded.

"Why did you keep it a secret, you could have saved the whole town?" I ask with a combination of confusion and hurt.

"I'm sorry." Is all he says, still not looking at me.

"50." I say. Simon looks at me confused

"What?" He asks.

"The number of humans you could have saved if you and your father had spoken up."

"I was a baby, I didn't know what was going on." Simon defends

"What did your father tell you?" Matthew asks.

"That the world was being destroyed by invaders, that I was being hidden for my own safely and that when I surfaced I was to start a new world." Simon finishes.

"How?" I ask.

"I was to find someone... my father had preselected a girl, but three years ago things changed." Simon replies.

"Who was it?" Matthew asked, but I already knew.

"It was you." He says finally looking at me

"The day they invaded was the same day we were going to meet, then you volunteered and things changed. But I still wanted to meet you, so I've spent the last three years trying to find you."
He finishes.

I look over at the other vampires, particularly Matthew

"Did he know?"

Matthew nodded. Gideon knew Simons father wanted me, so he choose him. Like Romeo and Juliet, expect the Capulets and the Montague's wanted their children together.
