Long ago, I don't exactly remember when, but Maman used to call me by a name. A name other than Léa or Nanami or Reine.

She called me her little soleil.

I wondered what she saw in me to call me something as bright as the sun, but she always called me so until something changed over the years. Maybe it was the day I brought home sunflowers for her after plucking them from the garden (only to be told that it isn't right to do so when they're living beings full of life, and helped me replant them back in the garden, before embracing me and appreciating how sweet it was for me to pick her flowers. But she'd appreciate it more if I'd plant more flowers than bring her a grand bouquet of them), or maybe it was the time when we sat together during our picnic.

Perhaps during that picnic—when I usually seethe at the sight of the sun or throw a hissy fit on how hot it is—when Maman noticed how calm I was in watching the sun shine in the sky, breathing in the soft yet dazzling light that beamed from it, she soon came to realize I might not be the sun she thought I was.

I wasn't a sun, but I appreciated its glamour when anyone least expected it.

I always appreciated it whenever I quiet down and slowly breathe in the beauty of the world...

I'm no sun child... But a flower that looks towards the sun.

Maman's little sunflower.

And I, the sunflower, always behold my brother as the sun. One who greatly appreciated the bright attitude he always brings to a room, the light he brings when my days were dark, and the happiness he never fails to bring to me.

Some days I feel like a sunflower, other days I feel like the moon.

The sunflower uses the sun's bright rays to feed itself, whereas the moon simply borrows the light and offers the world a glow of its own... yet much less and bright than the sun.

I could never add up to become like the sun my brother is...

But I can be a sunflower, hidden amongst many, and watching carefully from a distance. Feeding on the light and always facing towards it...

Or I can be a moon, unassuming and overlooked... but once you set your sights on me, you can't ever seem to look away.

I wonder how I appear right now, sitting before this girl who is to be my sister-in-law.

...As if.

I calmly hummed to myself, the hall quite bright and loud during this time of day. Since it's the second and last day of the Ouran fair, it is a bit crowded... Regardless, I do find myself enjoying my time here with the hosts and our guests.

Well, until I requested for a certain someone to have a cup of tea with me.

I politely smiled at her, where she sat across in an elegant posture. "Thank you for coming here on such short notice. Since we are to be family soon, it wouldn't be right to not have our own little chat."
