"So you're in Japan right now?" I questioned through the telephone as I stared outside my window at the garden. "But why?"
"Well, we were on our way to Monale until Rolance was requested by someone to visit his sister. I don't mind, really. I'll properly be able to bid farewell to my family," Seika chuckled on the other side. "Since the fiancé issue is taken care of, isn't it time you come back to Japan? To Ouran? Taking this long will ruin your education."
I pursed my lips as I glanced down at my necklace, feeling as though it's the one thing that keeps me chained to France. It's hard to leave when learning something I never knew before, and then instantly move on from it.
Not wanting to worry Seika, I let out a small laugh. "Yes, you are right. And I will be going back once the time comes when I'm ready... It's just not... now..."
She hummed, as if understanding even though I didn't directly tell her what my problem was. "Nanami, I know what you're going through is hard, but I hope you'll reach your answer soon."
I softly smiled, happy that I called her. It's like I can tell her anything and she'd instantly know how to make me feel better.
Tashina is a bit rough on that, though.
And Renge...
Let's not go there.
Chills ran down my spine when remembering how she compared my problems with her videogames.
It wasn't bad... It was just the suggestions she gave me that were.
Make things more dramatic for it to ease out on its own? Wait for your hero to appear to take care of the problem?
A few of the worst advices given.
But Renge is Renge. Can't change the way of the otaku.
"Thank you, Seika. And best wishes to you and Lance!"
"No. Thank you, Nanami. I wonder how my life would have turned out if you hadn't followed me in the rose maze," she explained in amusement. "I still remember the moment you fell through the bushes..."
"Oh, yes," I murmured in surprise. "That felt like ages ago-"
"And when you started kissing the ground!" she snorted, making me sweat-drop.
"Erm... Yes, thank you for the horrible memory that I tried to forget-"
"And don't get me started when you spat out dirt and grass-"
"Okay!" I hissed with a pout. "Thank you, Seika! I'll talk to you later."
She laughed. "Very well, Nanami. When you do call, I hope we can talk more about those moments we shared!"
I ended the call with my head shaking, yet chortled to myself when recalling the second we became official friends.
So many things happened throughout this year, a few sad and a few happy. But it won't change the fact on how many people I learnt to love over such a short period of time.
If only I could go back to the day where I shut the door in the hosts faces...
It would be funny to shock them again. They didn't handle the idea of a non-interested person very well.
I snickered when looking back on the fact when everyone figured out I was a girl. And that cage incident when Frère figured out I was Nanami.
Speaking of cages...
My shoulders slouched as my eyes teared up.
I'm such a horrible person... No, sister...
No, big sister.
