Rhyme Box

I don't have enough time
To think up a rhyme.
That was a rhyme paradox I thought up this time.

I've lost my train of thought,
But that happens more often than not.
I've gotta get back on that train,
So I can continue writing again.

Get on the train before you miss your chance,
Before you lose your mind or go into a trance.
Grab some ideas and words that rhyme,
And fill up this paper before you run out of time.

You run to the train station in your mind,
It takes you quite a while to find.
There's so much going on in there,
You wish it would all just disappear.

Put some words here that have meaning,
Some more there just as filling.
Fill the page with worthless metaphors,
You'll finish this poem, you swore.

But this is going nowhere,
So you grip the paper and tear.
Your work's in pieces on the floor,
Because it doesn't matter anymore.
