Abandoned Road

A road is freshly paved,
Smooth and pleasing to drivers,
Not a single bump or crack.
This new road is flawless.

Countless vehicles cruise down.
The dark road fades in the sun.
Harsh tires wear it thin.
The weight of trucks crack the road.

The cracks turn into potholes,
The damage keeps multiplying.
Heavy vehicles speed down the road,
They wear it down and strip it bare.

This road is completely worn,
Full of cracks and potholes.
No one drives down the road,
It's far too risky and dangerous.

You might hit a pothole and flip,
You'll pray your airbag is effective,
You'll be thankful you wore a seatbelt,
You'll never go back down that road again.

No one in their right mind,
Would ever go back down that road.
It's too damaged and dangerous,
So it is left completely abandoned.
