"So, what are your plans for your birthday, dear?" Alexa snapped. Prente itong nakahiga sa aking kama habang abala ito sa kanyang iPhone. Kanina ko pa itong nasusulyapan na pangiti ngiti at napapayakap sa aking mga unan. And now, she's grinning like crazy again.

Binalik ko ang aking tingin sa vanity mirror na nasa harapan ko. As usual, I'm busy fixing myself again for a long day. It's just past six already and I am with Alexa. Naki sleepover ito dahil halos ilang araw rin kaming hindi nagkita at nagkasama, and she told me that she missed my company that's why she's here.

"Nothing much, maybe I'm just having a dinner with my parents and friends? Syempre, invited na kayo doon ni Alex" Sinulyapan ko siya habang itinatali ko ngayon ang aking buhok.

"Seriously? It shouldn't be that way Kristen! That's too boring! How about we'll throw a party for your birthday? We'll rent a bar! That will be more fun!" Ibinaba muna nito ang kanyang iPhone. Sandali akong napasulyap doon. I saw the familiar interface of a dating app and it's too obvious na iyon ngayon ang pinagkakaabalahan ng aking mahal na kaibigan.

"Alexa, mom and dad will definitely freak out kung nalaman nilang may party na magaganap sa bar. You knew that they are too strict especially when it comes to that kind of topics" I also said. "And are you still using that dating app, Alexa?" I added.

Marahan itong tumango "Yep, I got bored, so I installed the app again, and guess what? I'm chatting with a very cute and hot guy!" Tumili pa ito at ihinarap sa akin ang chats kuno ng dalawa pero hindi ko iyon pinansin. Ngumuso nalang ito dahil sa pambabalewala ko rito. "Kristen, you're already in legal age! There's nothing wrong if you'll come hanging out with some guys at a bar! Party lang din naman, and I tell you, it will be so much fun! Kung gusto mo, ako na mismo ang magpapaalam kila tito Eduard tungkol dito. I will assure them that we'll be safe! Alex will on guard" she made her voice even more convincing while she's pleading. Ngumiti ito sa akin at sandali naman akong napaisip.

Guess she's right. I'm already turning 21 this coming Tuesday and I've never experienced coming to bars yet, 21 years and counting. Maybe it's time for me to socialize more and experience something new.

"I'll think about that Alexa. Maybe I could consider your proposal" naglakad ako patungo sa kama ko at umupo roon upang isuot ang aking itim na stillettos.

She moved a bit to give me space. Binalik nito ang kanyang atensyon sa kanyang iphone at napapahagikgik na naman ito dahil siguro naaaliw siya sa kachat nito.

"Tell me if you changed your mind, I know a popular place at Taguig. Kilala ko ang may ari ng isang bar roon at kung gusto mo, ako na ang bahalang arkilahin iyon sa araw ng kaarawan mo" she offered. I smiled then nodded.

"Okay, I'll take that in mind" I just said that made her beam wider.

My phone rang beside my lampshade. "Alexa, could you please hand me my phone?" I asked. "Sure" nakangiting sabi naman nito at inabot agad sa akin ang iphone ko.

I saw Mom's caller ID on the phone's screen at hindi na agad ako nagdalawang isip pang sagutin ito. It's almost 4 days already and my parents weren't home yet. They are still in China and settling the land issue about the land acquisition they did before. I just hope that they will come home before my special day.

"Hi Mom! Good morning! Kumusta po kayo ni Dad dyan?" I was smiling the time I answered my mom's call.

"Hello princess, good morning too. We miss you already. Your dad and I are just doing fine, pero mukang matatagalan pa kami dito sa China anak." Her voice was graceful at first but then, lumungkot ito sa mga huling pagkakasambit nito ng mga salita.
