Bughead: The Diner

Chapter 1

Jughead Jones had graduated high school 2 years ago and now he runs a diner called pops. The diner used to belong to his father but he passed it down to jughead when he couldn't work anymore. The diner had jughead and two other waiters ; fangs and Sweetpea, jughead's two best friends. They were doing okay on their own but had recently advertised for a new employee. On one rainy Monday afternoon the diner was empty until the bell on the door rang, signalling a customer. She was a blonde girl in a pink collared jumper and white skirt, her hair was in a neat pony tail. Jughead thought she was beautiful, she took a seat in a booth and took out some textbooks. "hey, can I get you anything?" Jug said making his way over to her. "Oh, can I have a hot Chocolate please?" She smiled and he nodded. Once he had made her drink he made his way back to the booth. "Thank you" she said. "I've never seen you around here before" jug stated. "I moved here last week, my parents spilt and i moved with my mom" she replied with a smile but jughead could sense the sadness in her voice. "Oh I'm sorry but how are you liking Riverdale so far?". "It's okay, I started Riverdale High today, I only have a year left" she said and he nodded. "Ah yes Riverdale High, I graduated two years ago and then took over this place for my dad" Jug said gesturing around. "I'm Betty, betty Cooper" she said extending her hand. "Jughead, Jones" he said Shaking her hand. "Have you been anywhere other than the school, have you been sightseeing?" Jug asked. "Oh yeah I went to Sweetwater but apart from that no, I've been looking for a job but nowhere seems to have one" she sighed. Suddenly jughead got an idea. "Well we're looking to hire someone, are you interested?" He asked and his heart ached when her face lit up. "Really?" She beamed and he nodded. " come on let me show you around" he said and she stood up.

After showing her around the diner and the ins and outs he gave her some red shorts and yellow 'pops' shirt as her uniform. Jughead was pleasantly surprised to find she was a good cook and liked to clean. "Well Betty Cooper you got the job" he smiled and she beamed back. " let me introduce you to the others" he said as they made their way over to two other men. "Fangs, Sweetpea, this is Betty Cooper she's our new waitress" Jug said and they all introduced each other. A little while later Betty and jughead were sat In her booth talking about when she will work. "I can do weekends and everyday after school?" She said and he agreed. "Okay well I'll see you after school tomorrow jughead" she said as she packed her stuff up. "See ya betts" he waved. "Betts?" She questioned but a small smile was playing on her lips. "It just slipped out" he said sheepishly. "Oh well goodbye juggie" she smirked and left the diner. Jughead didn't even realise he was grinning until Sweetpea and fangs burst out laughing. "Oh man, you're in it deep" fangs laughed and jughead flipped him off.

The next day as promised Betty arrived at the diner after school. "Hello" she greeted everyone. "Hey" "hi" "hey betts" the others returned. Betty went to change into her uniform and then helped jughead in the kitchen where he was making burgers. Throughout her shift she deep cleaned the kitchen and all the counters and filled all the sauces and cleaned the coffee machines. "Woah, you are an angel Betty cooper" Sweetpea said taking in how the diner looked. "He's right betts, you are amazing" Jug praised and Betty Blushed. "Thanks juggie".
