Bughead: The Diner

Chapter 14

Over the next couple of week, Betty settled in to jugheads apartment and was used to living with him. She still worked at the diner and went to school, however school was still a bit of a nightmare for her. Currently Betty was on her way to diner after finishing school, there was a school project she had to work on for chemistry and she was already planning on doing it after her shift. When she got to the diner, she walked in and waved at the boys. "Hey guys" she smiled. "Betts!" "Hey angel" fangs and Sweetpea grinned when they saw her. "Hey baby, how was school?" Jug smiled, wrapping her up in his arms and kissing her hello. "Boring" she sighed. "Sorry to hear that" jug chuckled. "I need to get changed" she said and went into the back to change into her uniform.

"One vanilla milkshake and a fries!" Betty exclaimed, placing an order down for some customers. Once she was done, she made a start on wiping down some tables. "Hey betts, want to take a break?" Fangs asked her. "In a minute, I'm Just going to wash these up" Betty said and held up some dirty plates. "Hey you" jug smiled from where he was in the kitchen, cooking. "Hi!" Betty beamed and started to clean up. Suddenly, the door to the kitchen and Sweetpea burst in. "Erm! Jug I need you to come out front!" Sweetpea stressed and both jughead and Betty looked at him in concern. "What's wrong?!" Jug demanded but Sweetpea didn't Answer just pulled jughead out of the kitchen. "Betty stay here!" Sweetpea demanded and the boys were gone. Betty could hear faint shouting coming from the front of the diner and tried to strain her ears to hear what was happening...

Meanwhile outside the kitchen the boys were stood face to face with Alice Cooper. "Where's my Daughter?" Alice demanded, crossing her arms and staring down three guys in front of her. "That's not any Of your Concern, you won't be apart of bettys life anymore" jug sneered. "I'm her mother!" Alice shrieked. "You've never acted like one" fangs said. "Yeah, mother's don't tend to send their daughters to the hospital" Sweetpea added. "I don't care! Where is she! I'm taking her home!" Alice yelled and all three guys took a step towards her. "You need to leave" jughead growled. "You need to leave and never come back... Betty's not going to be apart of your life and you will not be a part of bettys!" Jughead snarled and fangs and Sweetpea escorted her out the diner. Jughead sighed and turned to head back into the kitchen when he spotted Betty peeping her head out of the kitchen door with tears streaming down her face...

"Oh baby..." jug said and rushed over to her and hugged her tight. "I'm sorry you had to see that" jug apologised, leading her over to a booth; the diner now empty. "Is she going to take me back?" Betty cried and jughead shook his head. "No! No, never" he quickly reassured her. "You're Sade here and I promise you never have to see her again" jug said as Betty nestled her head into his chest and cried. Jughead shared concerned glances with Sweetpea and fangs who had joined the couple in the booth. "You're Safe angel, we won't let anything happen to you" Sweetpea said but Betty kept sobbing into her boyfriends chest. "Hey betts, can you look at me baby?" Jug said, softly and Betty pulled back and looked at him. "You're okay honey, just take some deep breaths" he said, hoping she would calm down. When her breathing was back to normal and Betty had stopped crying, jughead decided to take her home.

Back at the apartment, jughead had tucked Betty in bed and handed her a hot chocolate, before climbing into bed next to her. "How are you?" He asked, softly. "Better, thank you" Betty said, as jughead wrapped his arm around her. "I just wish everything could be normal and I hate that and always gets under my skin" Betty admitted. "Baby, you lived in a toxic environment for years and now you're out of it, it will take some time to get over that" jug said. "I know but it still sucks" Betty said. "I know baby" he sighed, kissing her softly. "I love you" he said and that brought a smile to bettys face. "I love you too" she grinned.
