Bughead: The Diner

Chapter 2

The next week passed quickly and they all got into a routine. Jughead and Betty continued their flirting and jughead was falling for her more and more everyday. One day Betty was in school next to her locker with her two new friends Kevin and Veroncia when someone walked past and handed her a note, opening it, it read:

Hey diner girl! Why are you working, mommy and daddy not look after you?

Betty just sighed and put it in her bag. Ever since staring this school she had to deal with stuff like this, being the new girl put a target on her back. "Ignore them B" Veronica said sending her sympathetic smile. "I do, anyways see you tomorrow I need to get to work" betty said before leaving school and heading to the diner. Even though she's used to all the notes and name calling it still upsets her. As she was walking a group of girls starting laughing at her and calling her name, Betty turned around and as she did she had two eggs thrown at her. "Take that diner girl" they said as they ran away. Continuing her walk she tried to keep the tears from spilling over. Finally she arrived and the diner was empty. "There She is" fangs smiled as she walked in. Sweetpea and jughead turned to greet her with big smiles which instantly fell off their faces when they saw her appearance. "Betts? What's happened?" Jug asked rushing over to her. She just shook her head and said "I need to her changed". She threw her backpack on the counter and when to get changed. When she came back she had washed the egg out her hair and had left it down to dry. "Betty who did that to you?" Sweetpea said. "Just some people at school" she whispered as she sat in a booth. Suddenly her phone staring to ring. "Can you turn it off please it's in my bag" she said and pointed to where she had left her bag on the counter. Jughead went to silence her phone but instead found the note that was passed to her when she was by her locker earlier that day. Sweetpea and fangs looked at it. "Betts, what's this?" Jug said holding up the note. Betty could no longer hold the tears in and starting to cry. Jughead was instantly by her side giving her a hug. "The people at school keep saying things about me and that I work here and they found out why I moved here, I'm used to it I don't know why I'm getting so upset" she sniffed. "Betty it's okay to be upset" fangs said from where he sat at the counter. "How about this, today you can just sit here and do your work in peace okay? And we'll keep you in hot Chocolate and fries?" Jug asked. "Thanks juggie" she said and he kissed the top of her head before going to make her a drink. "Hey angel" Sweetpea said using the nickname the boys gave her. "If it gets worse you let us know okay? We've got your back" he said slinging an arm over her shoulder. "Thank you" she said and gave him a watery smile.

When the diner closed later that night Betty started packing her stuff up. "Thank you, for everything" Betty said to the boys. "Nobody's ever cared this much for me before" she said with a sadness jughead had heard the first day her met her. " well now you have us" fangs said. She gave them all a hug, and made her way home, that night as she lay in bed she finally felt as if she was loved and she finally belonged somewhere.
