Chapter Seven-

Change of Plans.

“So, what did you guys do all day?” I asked after siting and ordering our drinks. The boys had started with alcohol already; I just went for a soft drink.

“Well we went to the strip club,” Chase started but Alex hit him then explained what they really did which was just a tour of the town.

“That’s great. I feel like a burger,” I said looking at the menu.

“Well I am getting the biggest, juiciest steak,” Ian said while rubbing his stomach.

“I feel like pasta!” Chase said in a childish voice, I didn’t even want to bother asking.

“What are you having, Alex?” O asked him as he stared at the options.

“Chicken parmesan.”

“That’s gross, I can’t believe you,” I joked to him, though it is pretty disgusting.

“Well I am sorry,” he said sarcastically then an awkward silence had been created.

“I think I will have the seafood basket,” Logan says awkwardly but then conversation starts again.

I stare at Alex for a while, he has been weird today, too quiet. “What’s wrong?” I ask him grabbing his hand as we sat across from each other at the end of the table.

“Just don’t feel well,” he said still staring at his drink. “I don’t think I want to go out but I don’t want to disappoint the guys and ruin the reunion,” he whispered to me.

“Just tell them you don’t feel well, you can come back to my place,” I said kind of excited not to spend the night alone, Nick text me before telling me he wasn’t staying over.

“Do you think they will be okay with it?”

“I am sure they will. Tell them after dinner, that way if they do get upset we can have all this to be happy about, right?”

“Yeah, thanks,” he smiled at me and I released his hand.

Dinner went smoothly, no pranks at all. We had quite a fun night, the guys were getting a bit tipsy once we had finished eating, and Alex had only two drinks. Logan and I talked but not much, just simple pleasantries.  It was actually quite a nice night.

We all stood up, paid, and walked out the door ready for them to say goodbye to me when Alex dropped his bombshell. At first they tried convincing him to come but then they realised he just wanted to stay in for the night so they didn’t really care.

“Well that went smoothly,” I said to Alex in the car as we drove back to my place. “I think we should watch a movie when we get back, well unless you want to go to sleep.”

“No, no. That sounds great, count me in,” he said and smiled.

Returning at my place we settled on this crappy zombie movie I had bought at some point in my life, I don’t even remember watching it before.

I sat of the couch pulling my feet up and sitting crossed legged while Alex went to get a drink before the movie started. He sat next to me, like right next to me.

“Have you seen this movie?” he asks me as it starts, you can tell already that it is a low budget film.

“No, I think I would remember watching something as crappy as this,” I said making a confused face at the zombie make up.

“I think I just saw a camera man,” Alex said laughing.

“I know you feel okay,” I said randomly, Alex looked at me with a confused expression, his eyebrows high but knitted together, his nose crinkled and his mouth in a slight frown.

“What do you mean?”

“You know what I mean. You are fine, why didn’t you go out with the other guys?” I asked.

“Cause I am-”

“Do not say you are sick! You are perfectly fine. Now tell me what is wrong,” I demanded as best as I could. I am surprised I didn’t crack up laughing with that serious voice.

“I just didn’t feel like going out with all the guys, get absolutely drunk, finding random girls to hook up with and then not remember what happened in the morning. It is all they ever do; I just think they are getting too old for it!”

“You don’t like hooking up with random girls?” I asked seriously astonished.

“Is that all you heard?” he asked back in an astounded tone.

“Answer the question!”

“You answer the question!”

“I asked you first.”

“No.”

“Answer it!”

“I just did,” he replied back looking at me seriously. “No, I don’t like getting it on with random girls who are drunk!”

“Ooh! Do you want a serious relationship?” I gushed at him, excited to hear this new news.

“Well, I don’t know but I do know I like this girl,” he said blushing slightly.

“Aw, little Alex has a crush! What are you gonna do about it?” I said laughing at his expression.

“I have no idea; I have never really liked a girl. Well not recently anyway. I guess I will just wait and see how things go,” he mumbled like a little child. All the guys can be childish at time, then again every male can be.

“What is her name?”

“Um, why does it matter?”

“Well, I want to know what to expect of her. You know how you can match names to faces. Tell me about her,” I said excitedly.

“She is pretty, she has the most beautiful eyes ever,” he started nervously but then became more confident about her, “We have known each other for a while. She is kind,” he said looking up at me, “and she is just, I don’t know, she is perfect through my eyes. She has her faults and annoying habits but overall she is beautiful.”

“That’s so sweet! She will be lucky to have you,” I said pulling him into a hug, forgetting about the stupid movie that was still playing.

He muttered a negative thought but I shut him up fast telling him he will be fine. What do they say? Honesty is the best policy; he should tell her what he honestly feels.

“I think I am going to go to bed,” I said after having a shower.

“Okay, see you in the morning.”
