Chapter song: bitches broken hearts by Billie Eilish (It doesn't really make sense because Vivian is from 2017 and this song was released in 2018, but oh well)
"Please."
I get up and walk away form her. I gust of wind hits me and I shiver. I glance back at Vivian and angrily wipe away a few tears that fell down my cheeks. I stomp into the house and down to the basement.
(Three days after Vivian's death)
I'm woken up by a harsh knock on my door. I lift my head up and wipe the drool off of my chin.
"Enoch? It's been three days... we're all worried about you," Olive says from the other side of the door. I groan and get up, my suspenders hanging down. I swing the door open and the peculiar girl looks up at me with big eyes.
"At least join us for lunch. You haven't eaten with us for-"
"Three days, don't go repeating yourself," I groan and push past her.
I walk into the dining room and take my seat at the far end of the table. I glare at everyone who dares to look my way and cross my arms across my chest.
"Enoch, we're all very sorry for-"
"Don't fucking talk to me! You don't get it, none of you do! She was the love of my life and now she's," I choke on my own words, Miss P glares angrily at me from across the table.
"Gone... she's gone." I finish and stand up, my chair squeaking on the floor.
"I know Miss P. I'm on dish duty for a month," I whisper and leave the room and out the back door.
I take in a breath and let out a frustrated scream. A lump forms in my throat and I walk farther away from the house. I unconsciously let my feet take me anywhere and soon I end up on the beach.
I sit down and look at the waves. I feel my throat start to close up and tears build up in my eyes. My hands dig into the sand and I let out a frustrated scream. I take a big handful of sand and throw it towards the water. Most of it blows back into my face and hair, I just close my eyes and let the small particles hit me. I pull my knees into my chest and burry my face in them. I let all my emotions out as I shove my hands into the sand.
"She wouldn't want you to do this."
"Go away, Jake," my voice is muffles.
The American places his hand on my shoulder and I pull away.
"She wouldn't want you... dwell like this," he repeats.
"Shut the hell up, you wouldn't know what she would want, you didn't know her," I get up and push my finger into his chest. "You knew nothing about her, you'll never know... anything... about," I break down. Tears stream down my face and Jake pulls me into a tight hug.
"You'll be okay, everything will be okay."
No it won't. Nothing will ever be okay now that she's gone.
"And I do know her," he says.
I pull away from him and shake my head.
"He's not lying," a soft voice says behind me.
I whip around and stand there, shocked.
"I wish I could tell you how... or why. I wish I could say, 'you just got pranked, haha', but I honestly don't know what is going on," Vivian explains.
Her hair is different, it's a dark blonde, almost brown, color. Other than that, it's her. It's really her.
I pull her into me by the back of her neck. I look into her eyes for a split second before attacking her lips with mine.
I pull away and hug her tightly.
"I'm never letting go," I whisper into her ear.
"Yeah, last time someone said that, someone died," she laughs.
I don't really understand what she means but I still hold onto her.
"Enoch," she mumbles.
"Hmm?" I hum in response and still hold onto to her.
"I can't move my arms," she laughs.
I pull away and smile at her.
"Does the bird know?" I ask.
She nods and intertwines her fingers with mine.
"I walked into the house right after you stormed out, everyone freaked out. And then Jake brought me here," she explains.
"I need to show you something," she says and pulls me towards the waves.
"W-wait, what if you-"
"It's okay, I know what I'm doing," she holds both of her hands out towards the water and the waves gradually get higher and higher.
A gigantic wave looms over us and threatens to crash down on us. Water surrounds us and turns into ice.
"Wow," I say, my voice echoing in the ice dome.
Vivian smiles at me and runs a hand through her hair.
"I didn't even know I could do that," she lets out a sigh of relief.
I widen my eyes at her.
"You said, and I quote, 'I know what I'm doing'!" I exclaim, repeating her words. She laughs and shrugs at me.
"I just had a feeling, it's okay Enoch," she says and puts her hands on my shoulders.
I lean down and rest my forehead against hers while gently placing my hands on her waist. I start swaying side to side, pulling her with me.
"What are you doing?" She laughs.
"Dancing," I answer plainly and keep swaying, this time adding a few steps.
"There's no music playing."
"Sing," I mumble.
"What?" She questions and pulls away, looking me in the eyes.
"Sing for me."
