- Anna's POV -There's banging on my bedroom door, ringing out as noise through the air. It happens three times in each of the four reps.
I sigh and am about to get up when someone yanks me into their chest. I hold back a small yelp, remembering the events that'd occurred last night. Aiden looks down at me with his eyes half opened, looking exhausted.
"Don't get it," he mumbles, closing his eyes again. He presses his cheek on top of my head and I roll my own silver ones. Just from the two times I've been in the same bed as him (not in that way) I can tell he's an intense cuddler. Further evidence is when he pulled me on to him at the unfurnished house on the roof. But I bet he'd never admit to it.
And I don't get it. I don't stand up and open the door, just as Aiden authorized. But someone on the outside does.
"Anna, your brother came back and says- HOLY SHITBALLS FATHERFUCKING DICKWAX!"
I flinch, and Aiden secures me behind him. He looks at his friend before looking back to me, glaring. He pulls the sheet up, covering what cleavage I had exposed. I feel my face burn as he turns back to Nico.
Aiden's buddy has his eyes covered, but I remember the eternal inner shock invested in him.
"What the hell man!" Aiden growls, grabbing the pillow from behind his head and chucking it at him. Nico, face covered, doesn't see it coming. With the full force he'd thrown it with, his head knocks back into the door frame.
"Ow!" He cries. "It's not my fault you're getting down and dirty without telling me first! Don't hurt the victim here!"
Aiden scoffs. "You're not a victim, douchebag."
"Tell that to my murdered brain and scarred eyeballs."
I have to let out a small snort, which makes Aiden shoot me a look. I shrug, smirking. He rolls his eyes and goes back to his friend.
"If no one answers the door, it usually means they don't want the company," Aiden says, frustrated, and sits up slightly. He makes sure that the covers didn't fall off of me. I glare at him. It's not like Nico's looking. He's too loyal to his own girl.
Nico sighs. "You might wanna go tell Dakota that then. Because he sure didn't think that policy was the right one."
Any playfulness in the air is set over with a gloomy state, including from me.
"Dakota is here?" I ask. "Why? I told him to leave his number on the table."
Aiden looks at me. His eyes darken. "What?"
"Before you shove a stick up your ass," I start, holding up my pointer finger, "Dakota is my brother."
The look doesn't change. "What?"
I sigh and run a hand through my hair, then look to Nico, who's eyes are still covered. "Go tell him to meet me at the front door. We'll go get something to eat and talk."
Nico nods and turns around, running into the door frame again. He curses but recovers quickly and walks away briskly downstairs again. Ms. Morgan must not be here. I doubt she'd let Dakota in, considering she knows my file, meaning she knows he's my brother from my dark past. She wouldn't trust him because he could possibly be in contact with my father. I don't disagree with her for once, actually.
