QOC: What do you want to do when you're older? Who do ya wanna be? (Or what are you now/what are you studying to be?)

A/N:

Ya'll, I know Aiden POV's aren't your favorite. They're definitely not mine because, well, I personally don't think I'm skilled in writing in a guy's perspective. REGARDLESS, I have to face my fears and do it because I know it will better to advance the story. Now without further ado, enjoy...hopefully.

- Aiden's POV -

"Which would you like to hear?" Cahokia asks, rather annoyingly. How can he be so goddamn calm in a situation like this?

"Good news. Please," Hayley says quietly. I glance at her, noticing she's stood up with Lily in her arms. Nico has an arm wrapped around her shoulder (something I'm pissed he gets to do and I can't), Lyma chewing on her fingernails still.

"Well," Cahokia sighs, adjusting his glasses. Then he places both hands behind his back. "The good news is, Anna is alive. She'll be able to leave once recovery is over, which will take approximately a week." We wait for him to continue, to elaborate. "When she was stabbed in the chest, the killer was aiming for the heart. Fortunately, he missed, as it isn't easy to hit the organ. But he did hit her left lung quite deeply, which is why she was coughing up blood. You see, when stabbed in the lung, air leaves the body while blood goes in. This was Anna's case, but since she was near a hospital, we were able to help stop it before it became too awful."

I hear everyone sigh in relief, but I sure as hell can't seem to relax. There's no way I am until I hear everything. And this dumbass doctor better give me the news now or I'm busting his ass open.

"What about the bad?" Dakota asks, knowing I'm trying not to flip my shit. "How bad is my sister, Doctor?"

Cahokia sighs again and offers us a piteous look again. Like the one nurse had outside. It didn't soften my need to punch his head off of his neck. And I don't even know why. I'm just pissed off. I'll continue to be that way for no apparent reason.

"Does anyone here know where the boyfriend is?" Cahokia finally asks.

Ignoring the odd looks, I step forward a little more, shrugging off Dakota's hand in the process. "I'm here, and I'm the boyfriend. Why?" It comes out more bitter than planned.

Cahokia looks around at all of us for a moment before waving to follow him. "Can I have a word in private?"

I glance at Dakota. He nods once. "Go."

Grudgingly, I follow the doctor over into a smaller hall, trying to cool myself down. Don't punch him. Don't punch that nurse walking by. Don't punch that plant.

We come to a more secluded spot, but my temper boils again. I thought he would take me to see her. My eyes look around for a door, only to spot shitty-painted walls.

He's about to speak, but I cut him off. "Where is she?"

He sighs. "Young man, I must ask you to settle down. If you want answers, you're going to have to remain calm."
