Kirsten groaned, waiting for a customer to walk inside of Starbucks to order a damn drink. Business was slow, nothing was happening, everything was boring. Kirsten would give up anything to have something interesting happen right now.
There was literally two hours until Starbucks closed and Kirsten's shift ended, so it wasn't a surprise that no one was coming and ordering a drink on this incredibly hot day.
The door then opened, and Kirsten snapped out of her thoughts to see who had just walked in. It was a girl that Kirsten assumed was about a year younger than her. She looked at the menu before walking up to Kirsten and smiling slightly.
"Are you ready to order?" Kirsten asked, trying her hardest not to sound too bored of waiting for a customer. Well, there was a customer now, so no use in being bored.
"Yes, I'll have a grande Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino," The girl answered, looking as if she was trying her best to speak loud.
"Name?" Kirsten asked as she took a clear cup from the stack of supposedly infinite cups next to her.
She saw the girl hesitate before giving a name. "Scarlet."
So, Scarlet was her name? Kirsten wrote Scarlet on the cup and passed it to one of her co-workers. "That will be $3.95."
Scarlet handed Kirsten a five dollar bill, which Kirsten gladly took. Kirsten then handed back change and a receipt.
"Thank you." Scarlet smiled, walking to the other side of the counter.
Kirsten then groaned again, no more customer meant much more boredom.
---
Scarlet came back after a week. Business hadn't been booming and everything was boring, so thank lord a customer had came.
Kirsten assumed she was going to order the exact same drink, since people tended to do that.
"Are you ready to order?" Kirsten asked as Scarlet approached.
She nodded. "One grande Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino."
"Name?"
Even though Kirsten did know her name, she wanted to make sure this was the right person.
"Penelope."
Penelope? Did Kirsten think of the wrong person? Or did Penelope just look like Scarlet?
"That will be $3.85."
---
Penelope came once more, two days after her last order. She seemed frantic as she entered the coffee shop, but Kirsten knew this was the same person from two days ago. There was no mistaking it.
"One grande Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino, please."
Of course, the same old frappuccino.
"Name?"
