prompt: "Want to hang out after school?"

au in which people are born with gifts, but not all people get good ones. kirsten should know.

GIFT AU YAAAAAAAAY for elysten day :)

a very short yet very nice one shot,, enjoyssssss

Kirsten despised her gift. She didn't notice it at first, but once she accidentally killed her father, she realized what gift was gifted to her.

The gift of death. Everyone told her she didn't kill her father, that he died of an illness. But no, Kirsten couldn't believe that.

Her gift was something close to unbelievable, whatever she touched would die. A person, a flower, anything she touched would die if it was living (the exception being herself, of course). It was horrible.

How could people get gifts like the ability to teleport, but Kirsten had to get the one that gave agony? She wanted to die.

Death, death, death.

She thought she shouldn't have been born.

---

It was a wonder how Kirsten hadn't killed anyone, including herself, by the time she reached high school. She couldn't touch people, and it was about the time where she basically craved physical attention.

At least Kirsten had a friend. Queenie had the gift of being able to draw whatever comes to her mind. It was an exact replica of what Queenie would be thinking, and Kirsten thought it was super cool.

Kirsten held the pencil in her hand, thinking that she was fortunate that she could only kill living things and not normal things like pencils and paper. She was not so fortunate by the fact that she normally had to sit away from people to avoid accidentally killing them. Teachers were so helpful with that issue.

Kirsten watched as an unfamiliar face walked through her homeroom door. Kirsten saw that unfamiliar face look directly at the seat next to Kirsten, which didn't seem to be occupied because of her gift.

Kirsten knew what was going to happen. That person was going to sit next to Kirsten and she would force her away. Kirsten was always a little forceful to people sitting next to her because she didn't want to kill them. She couldn't afford to, literally.

The girl walked to Kirsten's teacher, probably asking about where to sit. It was a requirement to tell the teacher your gift, and if you were uncomfortable with that, you had to shortly summarize what it was.

Kirsten sighed in relief. She didn't have to be forceful this time.

The bell rang and Kirsten turned to backpack to take out her Language Arts notebook. Writing was fun, hooraaaay.

Kirsten took out some of her colorful pens (in case they had to take some notes) and was greeted with a hand. Kirsten immediately looked at the person sitting next to her.

Kirsten looked at the person who had just sat next to her, her eyebrows furrowed. "Excuse me, you shouldn't be sitting here."

The girl looked at Kirsten, confused. "Why not?"

Oh dear, she has so much to learn.

Kirsten was about to touch the girl, and immediately flinched away once she realized what she had done. This was why Queenie was sometimes a bad choice to be around because of her touching. Kirsten had to constantly remind Queenie that touches that involved Kirsten could kill.
