"Where are you taking me?" Kai asked as she cautiously followed Oroku Saki deeper into the building.
She turned the corner to see a row of cells.
Shredder stopped and gestured to the end of the hall. She quickly rushed over to him to see what was inside.
"Guys!"
Kai ran closer to the cells to see her friends.
"Kai?! What are you doing here?" Leo asked, fear rising in his voice.
"Are you guys alright?" Lakai fretted.
"Why did you come back?" Karai questioned.
"I would never leave you guys." Kai quickly responded. "How long have you been here?"
"A week, maybe a bit more."
"I'm so sorry, Karai. I should've gone on that mission with you and this would have never happened." Kai cried. "This is all my fault."
"Kai, calm down. It's okay. What is going on?" She asked.
"I'm not sure. I will get you out. I promise." Kai whispered to them.
Mikey spoke up, "Sis? Raph's in bad shape. Shredder beat him up pretty good this morning."
She ran over to Raph's cell. He sat hunched in the corner.
"What did he do to you?" She stuttered softly.
Raph only hid his face deeper into his knees.
Lakai's anger reached its boiling point.
"You need to let them go." Kai growled at her enemy.
"That all depends on your decision." Oroku Saki said folding his arms.
"What do you mean?" Kai snapped.
"I hope you have remembered who raised you, who made you into the way you are, who placed this burning flame into your soul. I helped you turn into what you have become, Lakai."
The wolf shook her head. "No, no, no...my family made me the way I am. Only your mind tricks and torture made me realize what I will never become."
"I made you strong, Lakai. Every soul has a lust for power. I can see it crawling inside of you. I can help you feed that hunger.
Together we can rule, have people grovel at our feet, even fear us, we will be unstoppable." Saki stated as he walked closer to her.
Kai slowly backed away and shook her head in disbelief.
"Don't you understand...I didn't want this...I didn't want any of this! Nobody understands this nightmare I am living! I would have rather been a conscienceless animal chasing after rodents in a forest somewhere than go through all this pain!"
"Kai..." Karai whispered.
Shredder hesitated before stepping closer.
"My offer isn't something to take lightly. If you don't join me, child, I will make you kill these terrorists with your own hands." He growled.
Kai slumped to the floor and cried out, "NO!" as she burst into tears. Kai wrapped her arms over her head as she tried to calm down.
"Go to die in a hole Shredder!" Raph stood up and banged on his cell.
Kai saw the shape he was in, his arms and legs were bruised and cut. She didn't want them to go though anymore pain.
"Fine...I'll...I'll join...you..." Kai finally managed to choke out.
"No!"
"Kai don't do this!"
"Don't listen to him!"
Her friends yelled through the bars.
Shredder walked over to Lakai and knelt down. "You have made the right decision."
"Kai...no..." Leo begged. She turned to look at him and whispered, "I can't see you guys get hurt..."
Leo bowed his head and grasped the bars.
"Come with me Lakai I need to show what you are going to do for us." Saki stood and waited for her response.
Kai still clutched her legs to her body as her eyes stared off into the distance.

"I said get up!" He growled and picked Kai up by her shoulders and harshly dropped her on her feet.
"Don't you touch her!" Leo shouted.

"Let's go Lakai." Shredder ordered.
She slowly followed suit.
"Kai!"
"You don't need to do this!"
"Get out of here Kai you still have a chance!"

She stopped and turned slightly to see them one last time. "I'm...so...sorry..." Kai whimpered. "But I need to keep you all safe...I can't lose anyone else..."
She wiped the tears streaming down her face and quickly away ran to catch up with Saki.
